So which is it?

So I was catching up on my news feeds and came across these two statements from Jody Genessy at the Deseret News and Ross Siler at the Trib.  First, Genessy's,

Second-year center Kyrylo Fesenko spent time before Tuesday's practice at Zions Bank Basketball Center working on his mid-range jump shots with Jazz special assistant coach Jeff Hornacek. While I watched for a few minutes, Fesenko didn't hit more than a couple in a row.

And now Siler's,

Before practice, Kyrylo Fesenko was working on his shooting with Jeff Hornacek on a side basket. I can report that Fesenko knocked down probably eight straight shots from 15 to 16 feet going from the right side to the middle and then to the left side. It was pretty amazing to see. Fesenko pumped his fist when he was done in satisfaction.

They could have been watching at different times.  They could probably both be right.  But if you only read one or the other, you would come away with totally different ideas as to how Fess is progressing.  Maybe Genessy saw the first part of the workout and gave up after watching the misses?

We think a lot alike BasketballJohn.

I had just read both posts about 5 minutes ago and came to slcdunk.com to post the same thing, when I saw that you had done it already. I thought it was hilarious that the two reporters saw it so differently. Maybe both are right, but Jody only saw the warmup or something and then left before Kyrylo hit the 8 straight and pumped his fist since he didn’t hit before.

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

I'm usually not that observant

And I had to go back and read both of them twice to make sure they were the same session. I thought maybe one of them was post-practice or something.

Does it matter?

Fes needs a lot of work!

I know this is in the right direction and it’s good for him, but shouldn’t NBA players be hitting about 20 in a row? 8 in a row seems like a high school practice.

I ain’t jumping on the Fes bandwagon yet, ’til he can get a mile run down to 8 minutes! He looks very out of shape, makes you wonder what he did in his offseason time. He has moments in the preseason where he looks “decent” but there are more where he looks awful. I think getting in shape would help a lot of things out.

reading Genessy’s blog makes me feel better about myself . . .

I’m more apt to believe Siler as he has earned more basketball cred with me.
