UPDATE: Deron Williams out minimum two weeks.

From UtahJazz.com

Good news from the Deron Williams ankle watch,

As a result of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) testing conducted on Williams’ ankle earlier today, Jazz team physician Dr. Lyle Mason has determined that Williams suffered a second degree inversion sprain.  The MRI also showed all bone structure and tendons in and around the ankle to be normal.

The time frame for Williams’ return to action is a minimum of two weeks.

This will ease the mind of a lot of worried Jazz fans.  Two weeks would have him missing about 3-4 games.  And with the early schedule, there's no rush to get him back on the court.

From clarkpojo,

Deseret News has already reported on the results.

Good news

considering it could have been a lot worse. The first three games are against the Melo-less Nuggets, then a home and home with the Clips where they might not have Baron Davis due to a finger injury, so we could possibly start 3-0 even without D-Will.

Baron Davis shouldn't miss any games.

I still think we should beat the Clippers with Deron.

I can live with two weeks.

I’m not happy about it, but I think I’ll make it.

I'm more worried

about the potential long term implications. I hope this isn’t a nagging injury for him all year. Ankle sprains can do that to ya. I think D-Will will be tough enough to play through it, but it could impact his effectiveness. I just hope he doesn’t rush it. He needs to come back when he’s fully healed.
