Life off, Game On - Collin Raye Song for the Utah Jazz
In case you haven't heard it, here's the new Jazz theme song that was debuted on Wednesday night,
He's apparently recorded a slightly different version for each team the Jazz play. I'm solidly in the meh category. It's catchy but sound like it belongs in the early 90's. But I'm sure it will work for commercials and such. I would have liked to have had a more modern version. And I don't know where the fan contest comes into play with this.
So what do you think of the song?
Comments
Wow.
That song just set the Jazz back ten years in the national respect department. What a POS!

Not good
The “Life Off, Game On” parts at the beginning and end were especially annoying.

Craptastic
I hope he wan’t paid more than a free ticket and $5000 bucks for that.
As Krusty would say, “I could pull a better theme song out of my aaaahhhh…Hey wow wasn’t that a great theme song kids?”

WHAT?????
That was extremely embarassing.
Deron probably could have had Lil’ Jon do a song, but that would have been nixed by the head office immediately. It’s a shame we live in such a conservative state.

I have to comment again…this is gonna go down in the history books as one of the stupidest things a professional sports franchise has ever done. What a travesty. I fear the day when our opponent’s press gets ahold of this. We are doomed…
The live band they used to have play at the Salt Palace was way better than this idiot. Oh, Utah, right when I put my trust in you you go do this to me. Now I remember why I moved.

Thank heavens
I’m so glad you all hate it too. That means I am not a jerk. “Life Off, Game On” is as bad as local advertising jingles, a la “Low Book Sales.” Seriously, what was the budget for this?
Leave the ball, will you George?

that
is a sonic war crime. It’s an affront to musical instruments everywhere. Surely, the gods of Rock will smite the perpetrators of this heinous offense.
I'll make it.

I don't know what you guys were listening to.
I really dig it. They got the same guitarist who does the Saved By the Bell theme song and they have some electronica with that voice that the new ravers are gonna be sure to love. I just think it’s too bad we didn’t get this song done before the Williams extension, because then I think he would have signed for 5 years.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

It's a little odd to hear
“Jazz Jazz Jazz Jazz” to that beat. And I’m not a big fan of the name-dropping; I just think it sounds wierd.

Critics
Rather than just criticize, let’s offer alternatives:
Lights Off, Game On?
Life Sucks, Game On?
Pants Off, Game On?
Let’s harness the potential of the tune, no?
Leave the ball, will you George?
