OK Corral

I went to the OKC website to get an idea of who we were playing tonight, and I realized something important about the THUNDER:

They got nothin'.  Nobody.

Seriously, I recognized a couple of the names (Jeff Green from the Hoyas, Earl Watson from the Nuggs, KD of course, Collison.  All of these players have one thing in common (KD  excepted), which is they have beaten the odds by being in the NBA at all.

If there's a new team in the league and they have to collect players from an expansion draft (read: taking out the garbage), you would expect a roster like this.  But didn't this team exist for many years under a different name?  Didn't they have a GM during all those years?  How did this happen?

And I wanted to tease them for their mascot and unis, as if they are a fictional ABA team from a bad basketball movie.  But in fact, they are as forgettable as a random opponent of said fictional ABA team during a hypothetical montage and music sequence where the team starts to get rolling.

Nevertheless, good for OKC to have a team.  It's as if they had no TV, and now they have the WB.  But even the WB is better than no TV.

Pardon the hubris, but I hope we get to see a lot of Kosta Koufos tonight.
