Breaking(?) News! Boozer to opt out...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3777170

Oh, and it's snowing 6-8 inches in Vegas, FYI.

I guess it's hard to say this wasn't expected, but it's still a little jacked up.  Especially the quote that says:

"I'm opting out. No matter what, I'm going to get a raise regardless," Boozer told ESPN.com. "I am going to opt out, I don't see why I wouldn't, I think it's a very good business decision for me and my family, but I'd also like to see what happens with the Jazz and stay here."

Good luck, buddy.  With the way 'Sap has shown/grown up, I'd be shocked to see Boozer back anytime soon.

See ya in Miami, Booze

Millsap has proven he can replace you, and he’ll cost about half the money.

goodbye and good luck frustrating fans elsewhere

p.s. you haven’t played 15 games for the team signing your paychecks, not to mention all the games you’ve missed as a jazzman, and you’re talking about how you’re going to get a raise “no matter what”? go away.

it's not about the decision

we all knew he was going to opt out. it’s the way he said it, when he said it, and telling espn before/without telling the team.

“Carlos has never told us he definitely plans on opting out,” Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor said. / O’Connor said Boozer’s representatives have never informed him of opt-out plans, and he called the timing of Boozer’s proclamation “a little peculiar.”

Real classy Carlos. Let your team know your plans through the media. Nice.

As for Boozer’s knee…“It was great (Tuesday). I went through a full practice, felt really good. Not really good to the point where I felt strong enough to play, but it was a good step in the right direction.” / And as for how much longer Boozer plans to be out, he said, “We’ll see what the MRI says, but if it’s not healing like I’d like it to, I will be out for a little longer than I expected.”

so he feels “really good,” but not good enough to play. notice it says how much longer boozer “plans” to be out?

No more momentum

Maybe our comeback win will get us going. But there is no momentum for this team, and the body language is depressing. I was glad Sloan got t’d up. But I’d like to see Deron get T’d up, or start calling out his teammates… I suppose that’s easier to do when your own play is impeccable. But it’s so angrifying that we had so much momentum in the preseason – the game was so easy for D-Will, and now it’s like every game is uphill.

This ‘news’ from Booz isn’t going to help. On the other hand, if that much money is coming off the books, can we go after some other free agents besides just Millsap? Sure he’s a good value, but on a championship team, is he your starter or your spark plug off the bench?

Buckle up!

Great timing

This isn’t a surprise. We knew he was going to opt out. But who is his pr firm? It’s terrible timing. He’s danced around the issue all year. And is there anything more damning to his sitting our than this statement? “i’m going to get a raise.”. Why doesn’t he just say, “I’m not risking anything for this team.”

I say let him leave...

He has a third fan base to go piss off. Those Miamians are pretty laid back Booze. You have your work cut out for you.

Grammar is not a time of waste

It's so simple to understand the timing of this.

He’s seeing ‘Sap get all the attention (any attention on Booze is that he’s milking his injury for all it’s worth). That’s not good for him, or his potential value in the future. So he has get himself back in the news.

Consider it done Booze… we all remember you exist now.
