How do you pronounce his name?

I met a guy tonight who went to University of Illinois 3 years ago and he said he loves Duh-ron Williams. Even he didn’t know how to say it.

i have friends that insist...

that he was duh-ron in college and only became “derrin” when he entered the NBA. i think he was overshadowed by his teammates in college (dee brown was a bigger star) and no one ever bothered to find out whether they were pronouncing his name correctly.

during the medal ceremony, the announcer paused before saying his name as if to make sure he was getting it right. same thing happened during the draft—i did read somewhere that david stern paused to make sure he was saying dwill’s name correctly.
