NBA's Best Part B, 30-11

This site doesn't get enough traffic right now to make a list together like I planned, but still leave your comments about who should be where.  I will post the top 10 tomorrow.

30. Tyson Chandler- Chandler is a guaranteed double double and his presence around the rim defensively is solid.  He should continue to improve as he has every season.

29. David West- He's an undersized power forward, but he put up 21 and 9 last season using his touch and quickness.  His only downside is that his size lets him get abused (sometimes literally) downlow and health becomes an issue.

28. Vince Carter- He still makes the game look easy at times, but he settles for jumpers when he could get to the rim.  And the nets are going to be bad.

27. Gilbert Arenas- If and when he ever plays basketball again, expect big things from Gilbert on and off the court.  He's the ocho cinco of the NBA.

26. Baron Davis- Davis is another player who will be trying to prove that he is good enough to thrive in a different style of play.  But he is still exciting to watch, even if rather erratic.

25. Chauncey Billups- You have to love how Chauncey runs the Pistons.  He is strong and disciplined, but he can't get to the hoop the way he could two seasons ago.

24. Andrew Bynum- The kid should be improved from last year by the end of the season even if he does start slow.  And he plays with great feeling around the rim on both sides of the court.

23.  Pau Gasol- Lots of laker fans can't stand this guy because he is so soft, but he has quite a skill set.  I agree that he is too soft and if he learned to toughen up, he could be a top 3 forward in the league.

22. Tony Parker- He is number one on the list for hottest wives in the league and also a top point guard.  Not bad.  He has always been able to get to the rim and his jumper keeps improving, but he is a liability defensively.  And he should be averaging way more than 6 assists a game.

21. Steve Nash- I love Steve Nash.  He is a great teammate and probably still the best passer and top 5 shooters in the game.  But his age is showing and it should only get worse.

20. Allen Iverson- He still looks like he's about 26 years old.  But with the exception of a season or two, he has always led a mediocre team.  I think his shot selection is one of the worst in the league, despite his talents and energy.

19. Dirk Nowitzki- The great white hype is still extremely talented, but he still seems to suffer from that finals debacle in 2006.  And he got what he wanted in Kidd, but it probably wasn't for the best.  I can't help but wonder what would have happened if the Lakers had traded Bynum for Kidd.

18.  Al Jefferson-  He has a nice career ahead of him and he is one of the guaranteed double doubles in the league.  He needs to show it on the defensive end of the floor to become a top player.

17. Elton Brand- I love Elton Brand.  He is one of the true power forwards in the game who uses touch and strength and power around the hoop to work his magic.  I don't think he propels the sixers into contention like many do, but he will put them into the 2nd tier with the Magic.

16.  Carlos Boozer- A guaranteed double double and has one of the best games around the basket.  He is also as good a rebounder as he can be for his size.  Now please stay in front of your man and bring a title to Salt Lake City.

15. Chris Bosh- Bosh has a great midrange game and touch in the low post.  He also turned out to be USA's best defensive big man in China.  He should have a great season alongside Jermaine Oneal.

14. Tracy McGrady- Mcgrady is an enigma, because he is one of the most gifted offensive players in the league and doesn't get killed on the defensive end, but he doesn't have that "it" factor to will his teams to win.  Sometimes he hasn't had the support to advance in the playoffs, but most of the time he has and still can't do it.

13. Carmelo Anthony-  He amazes me with how good of a scorer he is.  He really should shoot about 60% from the field with his talent and for how he causes matchup problems.  But he plays little to no defense and is basically an anti-leader.

12.  Deron Williams- One of the things that is most impressive about Williams besides his great fg % is that people can't stop him.  I can't remember the last time he had a bad game and even when he was guarded brilliantly by Derek Fisher in the playoffs, he still averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 46% from the field and 44% from 3.  And we know that Paul will at least have a bad game when the Hornets play the Jazz.  And like Paul, Williams will be an MVP candidate this year.

11. Manu Ginobili- Ginobili might not be this high by the end of next season depending on his ankle, but he is as deadly and creative a scorer in this league as Kobe Bryant.  Take that Laker fans. But if you seriously look at the last two teams that eliminated the Jazz from the playoffs, the performances by Manu and Kobe are very similar.  The Jazz couldn't keep either out of the lane or off the free throw line.

Whoa...

Billups, Gasol and Al Jefferson are a little too high.

And Ginobli ahead of D-Will! How dare you!

I guess ’tis your list.
