Awesome, SLCDunk.com is Technetium!

Matt at Hardwood Paroxysm (he also runs Ridiculous Upside) has come up with the NBA Blogger Table of Elements (click the image on his site for the legend).

SLCDunk was listed amongst the "Transition Teametals" portion at #47.  And the corresponding element is Technetium.

Awesome idea, especially for those geeks out there.  Now only if I could be so creative.

Who knows chem?  Who's the natural mate for Technetium?  Do I give away electrons or take them on?  I can't remember.

actually

We’re #43 (Sd) not #47 (Sc). Which would make us Technetium.

From Wikipedia:

Technetium is unusual among the lighter elements in that it has no stable isotopes. Only technetium and promethium have no stable isotopes, but are followed by elements which do.

Technetium is therefore extremely rare on Earth. Technetium plays no natural biological role and is not normally found in the human body.

Somebody smarter than me can try to figure out the significance of that. But yeah: we’re technetium, not silver.

I'll make it.

Suck

I don’t know how I read that wrong. I swear I saw #43 first and then went back to make sure and saw 47. Anyway, technetium sounds cooler than silver, even if it doesn’t seem to have a purpose.

And my brain hurts after trying to read the Wikipedia article.
