I also expect a blow out. And for us to score less than 90 points.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
With Deron ailing, no one can create their own shot.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I would have preferred he took the night off
But at the same time, it’s very Stocktonish to play through the pain, so i like it
Plus
he wants to win, and he knows Maynor can’t get the job done.

If you aren't watching, our defense is deplorable. And Boozer just got subbed out. No coincidence.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
AK played horrible defense in letting Allen go right by him, but Boozer just watched him shoot a layup in front of him.
Didn’t even put up a hand.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
He sometimes does this lazy swipe at the ball.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Yeah I'm watching
Watching Boozer let KG walk right by him in the high post made me do a facepalm. Good thing Sloan actually decided to do something about it.
It would have had to been his wife, or his kid, or his secretary. Because he doesn't use the internets.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Millsap needs to understand that he can't get into foul trouble.
The Jazz need him to be on the floor all night.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I just left David Locke a message about the defensive effort changing immediately upon Boozer's departure.
It is indefensible. Since his departure, the Celtics have shot only one layup when their first 5 field goals were layups. But he will return. I just hope his effort is good.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
And Locke will talk about how much better his defense looks.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I think that's because most of the comments made are irrational
the 5% of anti Boozer comments that actually make sense get drowned out when he gets bashed even when he is playing well
I agree with you Sherbs. He gets too much negative press.
I personally have no exception to him as a person, but he doesn’t fit with what the Jazz are trying to do anymore. He hurts this team. I have the stats to prove it. He needs a new change of scenery as much as the Jazz need to play without him.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I should add, that he has been hurting the team statistically since the 2007-2008 season.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
hmmm
I tend to think a Boozer trade is probably for the best also but..
He spent most of last season injured, and this season isn’t ten games old yet.
He had a pretty consistent season in 07/08 though, and I wouldn’t agree that the team was/is better without him.
You can find stats that indicate Boozer is a much better player than he is as well…
I am also concerned as to who would take over at PF. I don’t think Millsap can cut it as a full time starter and AK47 is not going to be the answer at the 4. Maybe if we get the number 2 draft pick next year we’ll be set
Before the Korver trade the Jazz were 16-16. Went 38-12 afterward.
Of the Jazz’s 7 best players, there is only one player whose per 36 minute productivity decreased. I will give you one guess as to who.
Okur, AK and Brewer’s offensive efficiency have gone up with increased shots per game the last 3 seasons. Boozer and Williams efficiency decrease drastically with increased shots. Deron knows the team is better when he doesn’t shoot.
But bottom line is, when Boozer has played poorly, as opposed to well, it has had no effect on the Jazz winning or losing games.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
hang on
Are you seriously saying that whether Boozer played well or not has no effect on the Jazz winning?
I can’t argue with your stats, that may be true statistically but……..
do you honestly think that is true?
stats can definitely lie… for example, that wouldn’t take things such as the schedule (just one example) into account, if it is purely based on PER or something similar.
The Jazz were probably at their best in 06/07, although you could argue 07/08. Both of those years Boozer was a beast and an all star (from memory). In that respect, I’ll take my view over the stats any day, Boozer was our 2nd best player and the Jazz played better with him.
I am honestly saying that the Jazz are a better team, the less Boozer does in the offense.
He is a fantastic defensive rebounder, but an inefficient offensive player.
My stats are from nearly 100 games of sample size since the 2007-2008 season.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
i don't have stats to back me up
but i’ve seen it a ton of times where boozer has a fantastic box score (20&20) in horrible jazz losses.
But to clarify, if he plays well, or gets lots of points and rebounds and takes more shots, the Jazz have a lower winning percentage.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
And just for a taste of what I am saying..
Before Korver trade in 2007-2008 (32 games) 16-16
Boozer- 24.2 points a game- 11.6 rebounds- 18.2 shots a game- 56% fg shooting- 35.5 mins/gm
After trade- 38-12
Boozer- 19.2 points a game- 9.2 rebounds- 14.6 shots a game- 46% shooting- 34.5 mins’gm
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
i think that since the jazz decided to make Sap the starting PF
by matching on the offer sheet, sap needs to be given the opportunity to develop as a starter. coming off the bench just delays that for another year. as for ak, i think he could hold his own playing against second-string bigs.
Furthermore, the Jazz would be better off running and gunning along with the half court sets.
AK and Millsap would be better offensively if Boozer were gone.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
also, put fes at center
and even memo could play some 4 if necessary. his post game isn’t pretty, but it’s improving and he’s a strong rebounder.
i wouldn't have such a problem with him
if he just kept his mouth shut and played. even with his lackluster d and all, i wouldn’t be automatically picking everything he does apart if he didn’t keep digging his own hole.
are you referring to press interviews?
Cause since the start of the season he pretty much has kept his mouth shut
yes to the press interviews
but also random comments throughout the season like “i’m a starter”—which he reiterated at the start of this season. it doesn’t help that everyone else talks about being willing to do what’s best for the team and him sticking out like a sore thumb in that respect.
Jazz give up 14 points in the first 4:24. And only 14 points the last 7:26.

He's trying hard to guard Sheed. There's some effort there. Just a bad matchup.

I think AK has about 11 pump fakes tonight.
And the defender has fallen for all of them.

Does Deron look alright?
Or can you tell he’s playing injured?

More than Halfway to triple-double. lol! How great would that be?
Jerry would make a wonderful Jr Jazz coach

Nah
in Jr. Jazz, I think you have to play them for like half the game.
Not just 15 seconds at the end of each half in a blowout.

Although I think the color-coordinated wristbands to show who you should be guarding would help.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Maybe he should do that
everyone can only play half the game max (save for Deron & maybe Okur/AK).
Everyone has to play 10 (or so) minutes/game.
And the wristbands = GREAT idea.

Because
slow needs reasons to keep Koof on the bench.

Here's the thing...
+/- is a horrible stat. Way to dependent on the team you’re out there with.
That said… it’s still annoying to see him have the worst one on the team… and a -11 in a 10 point game.

It is a horrible statistic by itself, but over the course of a season it has SOME merit.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Yeah, maybe
but over 1 game (and even worse, 1 half)… it’s kinda irrelevant.

Of course. Although the stinker he dropped against Dallas. the -27 or whatever, told a great story.
The Jazz looked great when he went to the bench and then looked horrible in the fourth quarter.

It usually just confirms what other statistical breakdowns can tell you though. By itself, it is sort of a stupid statistic.

Okay...
was worried what I was missing, b/c I was pretty sure Price wasn’t going to play today.

frustration...
… is what inspired that comment. I can actually think of a few that are worse. But watch the game and count how many times it appears Memo and Boozer are just watching instead of defending and it pisses me off. Just act like your defending. Millsap will jump and swat, which is also why he is always in foul trouble.
Boozer has had that called on him twice. He needs to abandon that move this game.

I just got here and kinda scanned through the posts...
But moni.. you gotta lotta hate going on. We all need some group therapy, I think.
Don't look now, but Brewer has done a commendable job guarding Allen tonight.

I wish they'd replace Boone with Hornacek
Or with silence.
Whatever works.

I think it is time to permanently replace Williams with Maynor.
And by permanently, I mean for tonight.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I don't have a stat sheet in front of me...
But Brewer looks like garbage out there, IMO. He should taken the deal that KOC offered, instead of playing Matthews into a deal.
No offer was made to our knowledge. At least I don't think there was one.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I guess that's true.
But he’s working himself into a deal similar to CJ’s as opposed to one like Millsap’s.
Did y'all here the story
about Rondo telling CP3 he’d never win a ring and that he wishes he was Rondo.

Does Booner know that if you're in the circle, you'll get called for the block?
Didn’t sound like it with his comment.

locke said perkins looks like the russian doll
that comes out of fes, and that sap is the next doll down
that was kind of funny
To be honest, I don't know if having them changes much. I think the Dallas game is the only game you could argue would have been different if they were available.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Sacto too. Good point. I've been trying to forget that game.

No idea
it’d be kinda stupid given how much slow seems to hate him

i was only thinking
that they’re getting their money’s worth tonight (relatively) if htey held on to him
That was embarrasing at the end of the quarter.
Memo and Boozer are both being made an example of. 37 minutes combined tonight.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Unfortunately
that means we’re not going to score anything.

sit d-will
for the rest of the night. he wasn’t doing much and let maynor get some tick. it will only do him good.
trade rumors
anyone heard any? i hope there’s a trade soon. whether it’s booze, miles or whoever it is someone needs to go. this team isn’t going to do it.
He's the backup of our backup pointguards backup.
Not even kidding.
Anyway, not here to rub anything in. I’m just here to tell you guys that I think you got a sick amount of offensive rebounds. Dunno what happened, our D seemed great but we couldn’t keep you guys from getting those.
And Utah has my respect for that. Good luck in the future guys, hope ya’ll pull it together a bit better next time we meet; I like basketball, and I like tight games.
Have fun this season.

having Jazz play horribly
Has made my watching much more efficient. Just read all of your posts—10 minutes and I’m done. And I’m even smiling after a loss.
Thanks guys (and Danielle, who apparently doesn’t watch now that KK is out)m

Millsap played his butt off. It was nice to see him play better. I think he had 10 rebounds in his first 6 minutes of play or something.
