No

I’d trade Booze, shift Okur to the 4, and start Fesenko.
Unless we could run with Okur somehow… then I’d start AK at the 4.

Yikes...

@tribjazz: EnergySolutions Arena’s as empty as I’ve seen it. Jazz have drawn better in snowstorms than tonight.

It's good to see #8 back...

My (non SLC Dunk) fantasy team is happy as well.

by Patrick517 on Nov 18, 2009 7:19 PM MST reply actions

Small lead so far.

Will need another 40 on that to insure a late 4qtr victory! :~

Booze

getting a bunch of lay-ups early.
Does Bosh play D like Booze?

So the only differences between Bosh & Booze...

one of them spent all summer talking to various radio stations in random cities, while the other is on Twitter.

Well, the 1 advantage

is Bosh hasn’t come out and said “I’m leaving”. Even if he is.

I'd still love to see it

Booze may be having the better game today, doesn’t mean he’s the better player….

by sherbs on Nov 18, 2009 7:40 PM MST up reply actions

The problem is

Bosh is just like Booze on the court. No D, blah blah blah…

Bosh is similar to Booze

in that respect, but I still think he’s the better player.

There aren’t many PFs in the league better than Bosh that aren’t on the downside of their career…

Pacers not doing us any favours

Blown a 10 point lead and about to lose to the Knicks…

my fantasy team asks...

has anyone heard anything about gallinari being injured?

by moni on Nov 18, 2009 7:42 PM MST up reply actions

Haven't heard anything yet.

I’m sure if something’s up Rotoworld will update though…

I love Locke's tweets. So predictable.

“Jazz lead it 40-27. Boozer dominated 1st Quarter with 12. Fesenko played well. Lead was 18”

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

by clarkpojo on Nov 18, 2009 7:42 PM MST reply actions

Hey, if I could get 8 lay-up attempts

I’d dominate too. Especially against a guy that doesn’t play D.

And I’d have more than 12 points on 8 lay-ups.

and also

it’s REALLY SUPER relevant that boozer had a big game against the raps TWO YEARS AGO

by moni on Nov 18, 2009 7:44 PM MST up reply actions

Loved...

watching Deron play the two for that little spurt. Even though Maynor took 2 shots that looked like something Bolerjack would have thrown up there, it was really enjoyable watching what a dominate 2 would be like in Sloan’s system.

Are there more people here than at the arena?

it’s more of the economy than the slow start. I mean they were selling tix for 1/2 price as of this afternoon.

you guys may be able to watch the jazz on fsn utah, but at least i had three in ‘n outs within 5 miles and you didn’t. can’t say that anymore…

I'm a Ute fan too

We’re frontrunners, though it looked like they had a nice crowd for the basketball game tonight.

by Brigadier Pudding on Nov 18, 2009 7:59 PM MST up reply actions

he should always be 3-shy

he seriously gets hot from behind the line 3 times per year and it seems to make him think he has that kind of range consistently.

by bigdog'sshades on Nov 18, 2009 8:00 PM MST up reply actions

Why does he look beaten down?

Koof

is having some trouble with Bosh. He just abused him.

boozer 7-10 & 8
bosh 8-11 & 6

yup…same player

by moni on Nov 18, 2009 8:05 PM MST reply actions

but

Look how much Bosh has got to the line tonight

by sherbs on Nov 18, 2009 8:06 PM MST up reply actions

that's cuz he's content to shoot jumpers

excluding tonight….probably since he’s going against bosh

by moni on Nov 18, 2009 8:09 PM MST up reply actions

Another reason why I like Bosh

He may not be the best defensively, but if your man keeps fouling you, it can make a huge difference

by sherbs on Nov 18, 2009 8:09 PM MST up reply actions

Actually, Bosh is taking advantage of his matchup just for tonight.

He is not among the leaders in shots at the rim or shooting free throws. He doesn’t shoot this many free throws usually. But he is having a fantastic season thus far.

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

by clarkpojo on Nov 18, 2009 8:17 PM MST up reply actions

Booze

so much for dominating, eh Locke? 2 points in the 2nd quarter.

i think every shot taken this half

Was taken with +14 seconds on the shot clock. Applies to both teams. Not sure that’s the kind of game we should be playing.

by Juan B on Nov 18, 2009 8:29 PM MST via mobile reply actions

We definitely should be.

boozer starts jacking j's

lead shrinks.

direct correlation.

by moni on Nov 18, 2009 8:46 PM MST reply actions

Also correlated

to Bosh coming back in. 9-3 Raps run since then.

Its a team thing. When they get tight and the game gets close, the movement slows down.

And almost everyone starts taking jumpshots. But Boozer’s fadeaway 20 footers are especially disheartening.

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

by clarkpojo on Nov 18, 2009 8:49 PM MST up reply actions

2 Observations

1. Probably a good idea to play transition defense / get defensive rebounds.
2. Sloan should assign someone to guard Belinelli.

by Juan B on Nov 18, 2009 8:49 PM MST via mobile reply actions

the bright side

At least we didn’t have a big 4th Q lead to piss away!

by Juan B on Nov 18, 2009 8:53 PM MST via mobile reply actions

Drills...

d-rebounding, lay-ups, FTs… we need it all.

I thought slow demanded the basics. For all that… we suck.

Funny Booze....

Not a killer tonight, but still rather cute.

by RRR on Nov 18, 2009 9:12 PM MST reply actions

Even with Maynor's improved play, Deron is going to play 42 minutes tonight.

I wish we could find some ways to get him some rest.
Not super important, but Maynor’s play is also going to hurt Deron’s numbers. I would rather win, but Deron needs the stats to get in the all-star game.

Eric Maynor for ROY

Well, not really, but it’s unbelievable how good he’s been the last three games.

by shandonfan on Nov 18, 2009 9:15 PM MST reply actions

Millsap played and stayed in front of Bosh and the Raptors missed some 3s.

Oh and Maynor was fantastic down the stretch again.

I’m just starting to watch my recording. I thought for sure we were on our way to 125 points tonight.

memo?

i am jumping on here late and have only watched the end of 3rd quarter on, but where is memo?

Good game....

for a very pleasant change

by RRR on Nov 18, 2009 9:19 PM MST reply actions

Pluses – win, held top offensive team to 91 points, maynor (just going on stats)
Minuses – Seems like it was a lot closer than it should have been given Tor is on the last game of a roady and they’re terrible defensively.

by Basketball John on Nov 18, 2009 9:20 PM MST reply actions

minus

front office will continue to think nothing is wrong and thus no trade.

however i like the excitement of the 2 rookies.

by P_Dizzle on Nov 18, 2009 9:23 PM MST up reply actions

The team defense has been much better the last several games. Basically since the Boston game.

I am going to throw this out there. I think Maynor and Williams are our starting backcourt when we enter the playoffs.
You heard it hear first.

by clarkpojo on Nov 18, 2009 9:26 PM MST up reply actions

That would be sweet.

I mentioned it on twitter, but with Deron/E3/Matthews + Korver/CJ soon, Brewer is really quickly becoming an afterthought…

You all know how much I love Brewer. But even I admit, that the wait and see approach with him is the best.

Besides, I am still holding out for a Boozer + Brewer for Kevin Martin + Mikki Moore trade.
