Just when I thought I was out (of Boozer love), they pull me back in. – Michael Corleone
I'll make it coach.
I was at the game last night...
and one thing I noticed, other than Boozer had a fantastic all-around game, was his demeanor. In warm-ups, he was energetic and had a smile on his face almost the whole time. He was bouncing off the walls. He looked genuinely happy to be here.
I have flip-flopped over the Boozer issue more times than John Kerry. Before the season, I wanted to see what he could do and really thought he would have a monster year. He had no choice if he wanted to get paid. Then the season started, and I called for his head after the first handful of games. But if he keeps up his play as of late, the Jazz have to keep him unless they get a great offer from someone else.
And if he carries on like this for the remainder of the season, it would almost be enough for me to want him to (gulp) resign with the Jazz. Almost.

Neff, ENOUGH!
(Because I agree with you but don’t want to hear it. Just let me live in my world of denial. And for the LOVE … Trade him already!!!)

If we want to contend,
it doesn’t matter who we have. All that matters is that Kobe or Gasol get hurt. I don’t think there’s any way past those two. Hakeem’s rings came during the Jordan hiatus. D-Will, it seems, has had the misfortune of playing his career in the Kobe era. Out of respect for Juan B, I will say no more.
I'll make it coach.
wins are so much easier to stomach than losses
but let’s not forget that we are a .500 team right now. for every monster game boozer has, he has one that sucks just as much. is that good enough? not for me, not by a mile.
on an unrelated note...
is it bad that i’m cheering for denver over NYK right now?
I don't think it's hard
Cheering for NY is futile.

we need to make a trade with the nets
so that the nets can start winning and the knicks can get last place.
who are we all watching for the ‘10 draft? i kind of like aldrich out of kansas and favors out of georgia tech. i haven’t been paying close attention though.
Sorry. That didn't work.

Two thoughts:
1. It looks a lot like the old DeShawn Stevenson tapes from high school.
2. Who are these guys playing? The Washington Generals? Seriously, watch how many teams just watch the guy.
(I don’t mean to minimize the amazement. I’ve never seen a high schooler play like that….)
I'll make it coach.
He plays for a high school about 30 minutes away from my house, so last year, I went to check him out in person.
He is just fun to watch and he’s the real deal as far as skill goes. He just needs to improve his shooting. He is more athletic and quicker than Derrick Rose and he is just one of the fantastic players that will be in this very heavy draft.
As far as the high schoolers standing and watching him play, there is literally nothing they can do. He is so fast and has such good ball handling skills that they literally can’t guard him. Let me put it this way: if he were in the NBA today, he would be a top 5 player in the league as far as athleticism, ballhandling and ball speed go. High schoolers don’t have a chance. He is ambidextrous as well in his basketball skills.
And if that doesn’t sway you, check out his college stats so far and notice how many points he is scoring per shot attempt.

He shoots a ton of free throws because nobody on the college level is quick enough to guard him either.
