Have the last five games changed anything (in your mind)?

With yet another interminable 3-day layover stretching out in front of us, this seems as good a time as any to poll the current sentiments of SLC Dunkers.

They say that winning cures all ills, and a good 90% of our ills this past year have either had to do with Boozer, or he is regarded as the party responsible.  In light of the past five games, namely this:

Poll
How has your view on the world/Jazz changed?
Boozer never did anything wrong. Why shouldn't the cornerstone and leader of this team speak his mind? (aka I want him on this team now and always aka my name is David Locke)

I'm all about forgiving and forgetting. (aka I wanted a trade this summer/earlier in the season, but I've changed my mind)

Boozer remains on my list of enemies, but...gah! Confusion reigns within me. (aka I don't know! I...I just...I don't know!!)

I was more forgiving than a lot of Jazz fans regarding when Carlos was injured, I was annoyed by his masquerade over the summer and wanted him to be traded if we could get something in return.

My overall feeling on him at this moment, after the whole gong show summer ends up being the same feeling I had last year at this time.

-Boozer is a dominant player in this league when he’s on his game but the last few years he has been a disappearing acting come playoff time.

It’s touchy feely good times to see him do well right now this is true. I don’t think however that he should be in the Jazz’s longterm plans 1 iota until he can prove that he has the mettle to be a force in playoff basketball.

He's done better than people remember

The team fell apart against the Lakers last year, but Boozer was one of the only players who actually did his job in that series.
in 2008 he was disappointing.
in 2007 his play was the main reason we got to the conference finals, he was incredible against the Rockets.

anyway, my point is that it isn’t accurate to consider him someone that disappears come playoff time.

I don’t think it will be an issue as to him being in the Jazz’s long term plans given that they haven’t made any effort to resign him. Which does make you wonder if there is going to be a better time than right now to try to get something closer to value for him…

boozer had one good game in the playoffs last year (game 3)

the others, he either sucked or had good but inconsequential lines. we wouldn’t even have won game 3 if matty hadn’t gone off. so i would say he’s only had one good playoffs run in all the time he’s been here.

Boozer had a great game 3

He played fantastically well in that game, and was definitely his best game of the series. He didn’t have a poor series by any means, and I’m not just saying that statistcially. Apart from D-will, Boozer had the best series of any Jazz player. If the supporting cast had come to the party maybe the series would have made it to six games but it didn’t happen.

I knew he could play, I just wondered why he wouldn't

Also, all the talk about his defense sucking was pretty compelling. I think the only way to forgive him about his defense is to average 25 and 15. If he is productive enough otherwise, then you can allow a few give-ups on D. But if he’s only giving you 15 and 7…you can get that from Millsap.

I'll make it coach.

No option for

he should be gone as soon as an adequate offer comes our way? I’m still on that boat… though I haven’t really been impressed with any of the offers that were rumored (Prince; Rip Hamilton; the Bulls/Blazers 3-way one; etc.).

It’s going to take a lot more than 5 good games to change my mind.

I'm not in the "he should go ASAP" category though

because that implies at jumping at the first good offer, not waiting for a great one.

Word

I’m with UtesFan on this. I’d still be fine with letting Boozer go as long as the Jazz got value in return.

other answer to booze poll

No matter how well he is playing now, I can’t count on him for the whole season or for any particular part of the season. Yes, we know he is in a contract year, but he thought he was in a contract year last year too. If we can get any value for him before he departs at the end of the season, I say “do it.”
