The Best Links In All the World, In All the NBA, In All the Universe... 4 February 2009
UPDATE: Fixed the rant link, thanks Shums. Also, had to add this one just for the word Millsapian that Deron just coined.
How much money do you think has been pumped into the medical economy because of the injuries to the Jazz? Shouldn't the state of Utah be able to have free health insurance for a year by now? The local doctors and specialists have to be rolling in it. And this guy is at the head of it all.
On to some well-overdue links.
- Behind the Lakers, are the Jazz the most hated team in the league by others? Is there any other reason that would cause a rant like this?
- Random comment-baiting question. If Chris Paul can't go for the All-Star game, do you want Deron selected? Would you rather have him rest? Would it be like picking up Paul's sloppy seconds if he got chosen as a replacement?

wrong link
your “rant like this” link about hating the Jazz links back to… Gary Briggs again?
Uh, do you think you could draw me like a ninja?
They forgot Larry Krystkowiak!
That’s gotta be the whitest white guy name of all time!
Grammar is not a time of waste
Interesting to see so many people jealous of the Jazz
that said… why all the hate?
It doesn’t make sense.
it also makes Jerry Sloan drop a deuce in his
don’t see them coexisting.
Uh, do you think you could draw me like a ninja?
I actually suggested that we trade Wallace for Boozer before the season started.
I actually like Sheed for Okur a little better. First of all, I think Rasheed gives us the defender we need and he wouldn’t have to dominate the post with Boozer back and healthy. Detroit’s beef with him is that he doesn’t dominate down low like he should. Sound familiar? He would be an upgrade over Okur on our team, I think.
The other thing it does is give us the chance to re-sign both Boozer and Millsap if we want to after the season. If we think that Kouf and Fesenko can contribute a little more next year, then I don’t mind the move at all.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
not me...
i think his inconsistency would drive fans crazy. half the time when he’s on the court, he’s not really there. i learned this the tough way—through fantasy basketball.
Do you mean inconsistent, as in scoring 43 points and 9 points in back to back games?
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
About the Greg Miller interview...
In the section where he talks about the coaching and the luxury tax, he says that he believes in the culture that Sloan and the coaches have created, including “the work ethic, just the simplicity, the blocking and tackling, and so on.” Um, “blocking and tackling”? I mean, I know we play physical ball, but with the possible exception of Matt Harpring (who used to play football, right?), do we really tackle people on a regular basis? That phrase makes me think he forgot that he was talking about basketball, not football….not too confidence-inspiring for the new CEO, unless my reading of it is totally off…
I did a double-take on that one too.
I could see blocking, but tackling?

from the sap and malone article:
The knee injury was the second of the season for Millsap, who’s missed six games, and caused to Sloan attempt to jokingly put to rest those pesky comparisons to Malone.
"He’s missed more games already than Karl Malone missed in his career," Sloan said.
sloan might have been joking, but i think it’s actually true…karl only missed something like five games due to injury in a jazz uniform. i miss him..and stock…and ak…hopefully dwill will be back in the next game and i can take him off the list.
as for the all-star thing, i vote for rest. even if he were replacing someone other than cp, i would still vote for rest. i don’t think dwill would pass it up though, if he were named a replacement.
I loved
that as soon as Karl jumped ship for L.A., he promptly suffered the worst injury of his career. Thank you, karma.

Uh Oh
It doesn’t look like Bynum will be back helping out my fantasy team this season…

no joke...
Players are dropping like flies. Chandler, Paul, J. Nelson, Bynum, Melo, Billups, Ellis, Redd, and the Utah Jazz. That’s just in the last month.
