Disappointing...
After getting waxed yesterday, I expected Sloan to really rip this team apart (in the media) for the lack of effort and lackluster play. I expected the players to call each other out to a certain extent. Didn’t happen.
Not only did Sloan coddle his player afterwards, he made excuses for why the Jazz got their ass kicked. Never thought I would see that. Last nights game let everyone know who the Jazz are. I don’t expect them to win on the road the rest of the way. We will squeeze into the playoffs and get killed by the Lakers in the first round. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it. It looks like the CJ Miles experiment is over. Good thing too. I think he is a huge reason we get off to such poor starts. Memo is terrible on the second game of back to backs. He didn’t even look like he cared. Fortunately, some changes are bound to come this off season.
Talk real bball
Id like to talk about utah and portland… But a league where teams can win on the road!
Its called the dleague!!!
-the utah flash came back from double digits to win by 16 on the road!!! Yes the utah flash they are pretty good on the road (a winning record including 10+ wins against playoff teams!!!!)
Keepin on subject portland, maine is getting a dleague team next year…
So save yourself the trouble and watch a team that cares!!! Watch the utah flash, they play tonight at uvu @ 7…

Disapointed...
Why would you not even write a post for your readers? Head over the Blazersedge for an ACTUAL breakdown.

Hmm, thought that the picture explained why there was no recap.
I was disappointed too. Why do you not even post on Blazers Edge? You make this your first one?

I can explain it - i think
It’s been so long since the Blazers have done anything extra special that their fans (that’s me too) tend to devour every good thing written about them. They (we) came over here to get one more affirmation that the Blazers have indeed arrived … and found nothing. On Blazersedge we get a recap (two for home games) even if we play crappy so I think it was disappointing for some not to be able to find something to add to their virtual scrapbook of this season.
As our progress continues we’ll expect to beat good teams and our need for positive reviews will decline – we’ll take them for granted. But until that time you’ll probably see us overly excited about a win like last night’s (and the fact that we hadn’t had three consecutive 20 point wins 17 years.) Just think of us as bouncy, excitable (and possibly annoying) puppies that will eventually mature into respectable companions.

agree to disagree
I think that is a fair statement, but I am pretty sure there are some “matured dogs” out there who are looking as to WHY the Jazz didn’t show up. I want more than that Blazers were shooting well, or were at home, or out hustling them. I want to know what match ups posed problems for the Jazz, lineup changes, out of the ordinary performances, that only people around here might know. Those tid-bits that dont necessarily make me (a blazer fan) giggle and point, but educate and inform me as to how this happened. I am NOT here as a puppy.
But… if a picture book is all i am going to get, so be it. Wont be coming back here much…

We suck on the road
Especially in back to backs. Everyone one here saw this one coming.
This place is primarily written for Jazz fans. That John felt the picture was all that was necessary to sum it up is fine. The Jazz fans here don’t need a detailed break down. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just more of the same from this frustrating team.

...
-The Jazz never show up on the road. But last night was pathetic even by those low standards. None of us have an reason behind this. And we’ve been trying, for the past 2 or 3 years, to figure out why they’re so flat on the road. No luck as of yet.
-What match-ups didn’t pose a problem? I mean… the only guy really going offensively was Brewer. Okur stunk. AK stunk. Korver stunk. As for on defense… you guys got 125 points.
-Line-up changes… they finally pulled CJ to start the 2nd half! Of course, they brought Harpring on instead, meaning they somehow managed to downgrade the worst starting spot we have. Booze got tossed for not paying attention where he threw the ball. J-Slow got tossed because, I don’t know… he felt like it had been too long since his last ejection.
-Out of the ordinary performances… none in a good way. And we really don’t want to see the bad.
How it happened… plain and simple, the Blazers were the better team last night. Plus you had home court. Double whammy.
It’s almost like the Jazz don’t even come prepared for road games. Sadly, most Jazz fans expected a loss… and were just hoping it’d be close enough for us to have a chance at the end. It’s really, really frustrating… and tends to zap energy after a pathetic loss, which makes recaps even harder.
Understandable that you would want to see more… but this isn’t the best game for that. I mean, one of the bigger games of the season… and the Jazz forget how to play basketball?
Explore the rest of the site.
You’ll see that I’ve tried to explain the Jazz on back to back on the road for a couple of years now. There’s nothing more that can be said. You can search the site for previous recaps.
The picture summed up perfectly how I felt. In this case, a picture could say more than I could in 10,000 words.
It was very succinct. And as others have stated, there are only a certain number of ways to say we sucked in all facets of the game and the Blazers could do no wrong.

Here is your recap if you still want it.

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
I'd also like to provide an explanation for the Darth Vader picture.
This Star Wars fan was attending a convention at Huntington Beach when he saw a poor, little goldfish flailing for his life on the sand. The man thought about it for a minute: “Should I risk damaging this $150 rented Vader costume and save this creature who deserves to live? Yes!” So Vader grabbed the fish and was about to throw it into the see. Suddenly a woman asked Vader, “why are you throwing this goldfish into the ocean? There are so many beached goldfish on the coast, it will be impossible to make a difference.”
“Well, I’ve made a difference for this one,” Vader said.
But then Vader noticed that the woman’s 7-year old daughter had a single tear running down her cheek and he decided to borrow a local beach bum’s plastic container and Brita pitcher in order to give the fish a clean, filtered water home. And he gave the fish to the young girl. And that goldfish lived for 5 more wonder-filled days.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
What is there to say?
Here’s your breakdown and recap:
The Blazers played hard and hit lots of open shots. The Jazz didn’t play with emotion energy or effort. They don’t win on back to backs on the road. The Blazers have the upper edge to a top 5 seed. The Nuggets still have the upper edge on the division. At the Nuggets on Thursday.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Denver is so close to SLC it's like playing at home.
Mountains. Thin air. Snow in April. You can do it!
I am just saying... not rudly saying
A lot of these blogs put some real effort into giving great breakdowns, quotes and reasons for failures. I expect this… and this post caught me off guard… so off guard I am no-longer a lurker.

I agree. I actually thought the photo and one sentence summary of the game was fitting, funny, and appropriate. And clever, not run of the mill.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Most games have recaps
this one just wasn’t deserving… not because it’s the Blazers or anything, but because the Jazz were totally unprepared for the game. I mean… did you think the Jazz even showed up?
i know i don't want to read a recap of that crap
by Brigadier Pudding on Apr 1, 2009 1:35 PM MDT reply actions
Neither do I.
The Blazers shot well and the Jazz stunk it up.
That’s about it.

lol
He should get Olympic treatment from the refs (where they allow more aggressive perimeter defense and handchecking).
I'd like to take a minute and let you know again how much I dislike David Sterns!!!
The moron that hs is can’t, rather, wont hire competent reffs! But if he did that would cause his designed playoff strategy to crumble without his personal hands not having direct control of the calls…. or non calls as the case might be.
I’ve seen some pretty homered games before, but that one was simply AMAZING! It actually went beyond simple homering to what had to be the personal hand of STERNS pressing his button as a reff was about to make a valid call, then would not. Then of course blow his/HER dammed head off on the other end of the court!!!
No I am not defending the dead head approach of the jazz either, they did not play well, but when they took it up a notch the whistles were endless against them.
Booz getting tossed was very amaturish of him to allow. WTG big feller! Ya pussy! Sloan should have taken the head of the reff crew with him!
And WTF is it that makes Stern think his world is so pure and sinless that the constant shortcommings of his crew can’t be talked about and disclosed, openly! Sterns You are a DIRTY player, filthly, the dirtiest of the dirty.
Weather for entertainment or not the fans of these teams deserve, and are paying, for far more than entertainment! They desire a FAIR game, which is why the reffs are there in the first place. If such is a fasade, then own up to it and we can finally lump the NBA into the WWF! Cause if that is what you desire, you can go to F__ing hell in a hand basket!
End rant just cause… :(
Refs, in general
suck. Always.
Some teams really get the help (Celtics, Lakers?), and there’s the stupidity that’s “make-up calls” and “superstar calls”… it’s all just stupid.
A violation is a violation, no matter who it is.
To change it based on the culprit is just dumb.
hilarious
