Sloan to join Stockton in the Hall of Fame

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that Jerry Sloan will join the Hall of Fame this year. He will be enshrined with John Stockton. Karl Malone should join the two next year. Has there been one team with three HOFers named in back-to-back years?

Sloan's Dilemma

After 21 years of saying things like, “I can’t go in there and rebound for these guys,” in press conferences, it’s clear that Sloan has strong feelings about giving credit where credit is due. So will he take any credit for this?

No way. He’ll credit Larry Miller, Coach Layden, Stock and Malone, the comish, the alignment of the stars and dumb luck before he’ll take credit for his own hard work, determination, ingenuity, and grit.

I hope he doesn’t insult the hall by saying something like, “these kinds of honors never mean much to me.”

Buckle up!

Next stop COY

Hopefully this will be Sloan’s year all around. Hall of Fame, then Coach of the Year, then the Jazz upset the Lakers in the first round on their way to a title. (Well, that’s not impossible…)
