There is a slow in Jerry Sloan

Part 1

No not this Jerry...

Star-divide

Rockets beat LA without McGrady and Yao in game 6.

Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks lead the Rockets 95-80. Scola and Brooks combined to score 50 points. Kobe did score 32 on Artest and the Rockets but the Rockets still prevailed.

Ok this makes me really mad. Not because I am a Lakers fan, but beacause am a Jazz fan.

Jazz have a better PG than Brooks in D Will. We have better PF than Scola in Boozer and Milsap. We have pretty good Kobe stoppers in Brewer and AK. Rockets were missing their star center Yao and backup Mutombo. We didn't have our center Okur but Okur is no Yao.

Scola and Brooks aren't even playing for their contracts. We have 5 players playing in their last year of their contract, 3 key players have player options and 1 player with team options. 9 of13 players should be playing for a raise or a job. One player, that I shall not name, even publicly said that he expects a raise.

Still... why did we lose so badly?! Why did we act like we lost even before the play-offs begun? Where is the hope?

Yes please point your fingers towards Mr. J Sloan. Sloan is the weakest link. No championship with this weak link. 21 years of failure... hint?

21 years... c'mon. George W. Bush said it best... "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

none of our players showed up in the elimination game…and you’re placing 100% of the blame on the coach?

we’ve had 21 good years. we haven’t won as much in the playoffs as we would’ve liked—i agree. but look at the knicks. or the bulls—who are just getting out of rebuilding for the first time since jordan retired.

At least the Bulls have a ton of championships

I’d love to have witnessed 1.

I don’t think all of the blame belongs on j-slow… but at least some of it does.

There's just no passion

Well going off the players didn’t show up idea, doesn’t a coach get the players to show up for some reason or another? I would agree Sloan isn’t the whole problem, but 21 years with no championship says something. There has been alot of talent in Utah over the years, but the Jazz have never been able to finish a season. Every year its, “Next year we’ll do this, we’’ll do that, we’ll address this position.” When will the players want to stay in Utah instead of playing elsewhere? Somethings gotta change.

If you had to guess, how many coaches would you say have won the championship in the last 22 years?

Did you guess 7? Seven different coaches have won in the last 22 years. So all it says about Sloan that he hasn’t won in 21 years is that he might not be as good of a coach as Phil Jackson or Greg Poppovich, or that he is among the other 98 % of the coaches over the past two decades who haven’t won the whole thing. There was only one year where the Jazz had the best team in the entire league and if you look at the champs over the last 22 years, the clear cut best team in the NBA has won about 17 or 18 of those. If you want Sloan to go, you need an idea of someone who can replace him and do a better job, and unless you replace him with Jackson or Poppovich, you are likely going to hurt the team.

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

I have just started watching basketball in the last 3 years, so

I cannot properly comment on what type of coach Jerry has been in the past. However, even assuming that he was a great coach throughout the years, the job he has done in the time I have watched has shown me that he may be losing his touch. I personally feel that Jerry needs to get with the times, stir things up a little bit, and possibly put a team on the floor that can play defense??? Regardless of what he has accomplished in the past, things need to change if we want to get a championship.
