Good pick of Goran Suton

Speaking as a Michigan State fan (and running the MSU blog on SBNation: The Only Colors), you've drafted a good prospect in Suton in the 2nd round.  The one thing that sticks out in my mind is his improvement.  When he was a freshman, he was in the 15% body fat range and turned it over many times he posted.  However, his junior year, he started to cut down on his turnovers, and became prety crafty in the paint.  His senior year is when he truly bloomed, adding a three point shot to his repetoire, and that's when he became truly dangerous.

If that's not enough, he lived through the war in Bosnia: Suton talks about the Bosnian/Serbian War

So congratulations Jazz, he might not play immediately, but he deserves it.  Everyone loved him in East Lansing, I hope you'll do the same in Salt Lake.

thanks Pete

nice to have the inside scoop on Suton. I just hope he gets some burn, although since he’s behind Okur and Kosta Koufos, at a minimum, the burn he’ll be getting is probably with the Utah Flash of the D-League. Still, I’m happy to have him. East Lansing’s loss is Utah’s gain.

Uh, do you think you could draw me like a ninja?

p.s.

can you enlighten us on the proper pronunciation of his name? I feel like I want to say it “YORE-on SOO-tawn.” Or is it a hard G, like “GORE-on?”

Hard consonants

GORE-on SOO-tahn. And to echo my co-MSU blogger: you’ll love Suton. Great rebounder, decent outside shot, hard worker, and most of all, tremendous character guy. Congrats.

just what the Jazz need - more character guys.

It’s nice to know, when you aren’t winning championships, that at least your team is composed of solid citizens….

I'll make it coach.
