Ronnie Price re-signs with the Utah Jazz
"Keeping Ronnie on our roster was important to us," said Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor. "He is someone who knows our system and has proven capable of stepping in whenever called upon. Over the last two seasons he has shown a commitment to working hard and improving his game, and as a result, we expect his growth to continue."
Good signing. Great energy. Great locker room guy. He can play the 1 or the 2. Likes to devour Luke Walton layup attempts. Not afraid to back down to the Mamba. This makes up for not re-signing Dee Brown two years ago.

Sweet
Now while Maynor is warming DWills seat on the sidelines he will have someone to talk to.
Actaully this is a nice signing. Like it says he knows the system….he doesnt have to wait his turn. He should get solid minutes for his energy and hustle. He can also score good. I think he plays better ball as a score first 2 guard…
Now get Millsap back in here and ship Boozer back to Alaska with Trajan Langdon.

I say that’s a tie, you RT’d it, I replied to it, and asked CJ miles a question shortly after. My blog post and tweet about the blog post was up first though, just barely. Slow day at work.

I'll make it coach.
He must cringe at my posts.
Maybe we can have a weekly feature where he prints out all of my posts, gets his red pen out, and goes to town. Then he can scan them and post them.

No, it's summer time. I'm off the clock!
(And I could probably find as many mistakes in my own posts.)
I'll make it coach.
Nice to see
though this could mean that Maynor becomes the next Almond or Fesenko or something. Or, hopefully, we see more 2 PG sets with Price playing alongside either Deron or Maynor when Brewer is getting a breather.

Rice is where Almond attended college…could the name Price be a reference to Maynors career in Utah??
FesenkO = MaynOr…..look they both have O’s…..crap!!

Eh.
If it’s for the league minimum ($884,881 for a four-year veteran) it’s a nice signing. Otherwise it’s too much for a third-string PG that’s going to get almost zero burn in Sloan’s rotation. He couldn’t get off the bench last season, and I can’t imagine he’ll be much more than a 3-4 minute guy in 2009-10. Frankly, I’m a little surprised the Jazz brought him back.
Maybe...
but according to 82games.com he only played about 70 minutes last season as 2-guard, and about 280 minutes as PG. So, unless something drastically changes in Sloan’s rotation (e.g. Miles getting traded) I don’t think Price is going to be seeing any more time at the 2.
Really whether or not this is a good signing comes down to the length and value of the contract. Like I said, if it’s for league-minimum, it’s a good signing. You’ve gotta fill up those roster spots, and for your 10 or 11th man it should be cheap. If the contract is for more than the league minimum, hopefully it’s only a one-year contract. Expiring contracts (even cheap expiring contracts) become mighty valuable in February.
Who are you? :)
Haven’t seen you on here for a long time. Good to have you back.

Seriously. I was just thinking the other day...I wonder what happened to kris247?
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
Work Happened.
And, to be honest, I find the off-season, and the six weeks leading up to the trade deadline, far more exciting than the actual season. I’m a nerd.
He got 8min a game the last two seasons off the bench...
He also started for DWill when he was injured. He is the man if DWill goes down. He knows the system. Maynor still has to learn that he is a rookie and he is on Sloan’s team….so no playing time. Price will be #2 PG and play some minutes at 2 guard. Sloan admitted that he should have played Price more during the playoffs….so he will probably get him in the games more often now.
