Jazz vs. New Philly - 2009 Summer League Game Thread

That can't be good for your ankles/knees/legs

No KOOF, No FESS, No problem.

Taking a page out of MLB's spring training, the Jazz will go up against a split squad today in New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Make sure to check out the live video (you'll probably have to turn down the volume after the first couple of minutes of listening to the announcers).

These guys are really nuts. They are talking about “scrapple”….wow. Who put them on the mic?

This is pitiful!

We need a new summer league team recruiter…..this is not good.

I feel bad for Maynor, he has to play with these scrubs..

Nice hard pick

Was that Kevin Lyde taking out Maynor just beyond midcourt? I mean, he just laid him out — wrong team Kevin! Focus your energy against the “Scrapples,” not our new backup PG.

Not sure if the personnel was right.

I have a 2.5″ × 3.5″ inch feed going, and it’s only picking up half of the action. And can’t stand listening to the Orlando announcer scrubs.

David Thorpe

just called Maynor “Like Howard Eisley, but with better upside” on his Twitter. Also said the Jazz vets are going to love playing with him. And he gave Kevin Kruger props too. I gotta say, I like Ronnie Price, but I’d feel very good about D-Will/Maynor/Kruger as our three point guards. Plus, added bonus — KK v3.0!

Uh, do you think you could draw me like a ninja?

We need

to do it.

Monopolize the KK’s in the league.
And confuse the hell (can I say that?) out of everyone.

Rookie

How does T-Will and Jrue look?

Whoa...

How about Jerry Sloan and crazy Spikes in the same close up. Didn’t see that one coming. Jerry better watch out, that other guy’s hair could be lethal!

Announcers

Are the announcers rookie/undrafted as well?

by iLoveBooks100per on Jul 7, 2009 6:12 PM MDT reply actions

the announcers aren't broadcast people at all

they are members of the PR staff and have no training. it’s not their job, it’s like just filling in for the regulars during the summer.

Maynor should play the whole game

He needs as much reps as possible….especially on this team. We need to play the guys we are interested in the most…..like Suton, Maynor, Kruger, and maybe even Augustine.
