Memphis Wants Ronnie Brewer
Here is another report of the Jazz receiving tempting offers to cut salary. Memphis has offered the Jazz a first round pick, rumored to be one of the two 2010 picks they received from Denver and the Lakers via trades of Chris Hunter and Pau Gasol respectively. If the season ended today, the Nuggets pick would be 24th and the Lakers pick would be 30th. Sounds like the Jazz are entertaining the offer. What do you think? Not enough for Brewer or does it clear our wing problem?

I'd prefer
we trade CJ instead. And a first rounder seems kinda pointless because it’ll just be someone that never plays. I’d rather have Brewer than another 12th man.
On the other hand, if the Jazz might have something else worked out for a more complete wing, I’d have to seriously consider it.

That's exactly how I feel.
If the Jazz dump Ronnie’s salary for a pick, they will still have to sign a new guy and the money saved won’t be too significant. But if the Jazz are willing to let Ronnie go, then I think you can package him with something to get a better shooting guard or else a backup big man.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.
UGH
The thought of losing Brewer for something like that is disgusting. Ronnie B has worked hard to get where he is and its paid off for us. Why should we give him up? Just pay the freakin luxury tax for on year. Booz will be gone. and in two years, AK’s huge sum is off the books.
Ronnie B
I agree that we are roster jammed at the 2/3 position but not sure how this really helps the team. Sure we save $2.7 mill ($5.4 mill with luxury tax) but is saving that really worth it. If we package someone in the deal I am for it or if we can get Memphis’ first round pick this year then I am ok with it.
But right now I just want a trade of some kind to happen. Something that will spark an improvement.
No upgrade no trade...
I don’t think we should trade Brewer. I don’t mind losing CJ. At this point I am not even nervous about the payroll. Am sure Millers can afford a few Mills.
Booz’s trade value must be rising right now. I think its the best time for us to pack him away.
