AK-47's 5 x 6 vs. Lakers in 2006 via memoismoney
The one play that stood out to be is one you wouldn't expect. Look at that jump shot at the end of the 2nd. It's so pretty that AK looks like a shooter.
Final comment: even when it looks like AK's seconds too late, even when it looks like he's not high enough in the air...he still gets the block.

AK is amazing.
Couple of other things.
A. That starting lineup was mostly garbage. Seriously, Mcleod, Giricek, and Collins.
B. Williams looks like a stud coming off the bench even then. I forgot about that.
C. I loathe the lakers.
For the Love of the Game
Stockton to Malone- The perfect combination!!
"I think he just said, 'Oh my Gosh,' or whatever they say in Provo."- ESPN talking about QB. Max Hall after BYU defeated third ranked Oklahoma (2009).
MonSTARZ forever!
I literally can't believe AK was this productive
I stopped paying attention during these years, I missed between the late 90s and ~ 2008.
It makes me sad. I would really have liked to see AK playing like this.
This also could have been an example of throwing the cookies out. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I’m trying to drop some weight and I have some cookies in the cupboard that I DO but DON’T want to eat, I’ll try giving them away and short of that, just throw them out. I figure, better to waste a little money than to have something around that is just going to get me in trouble knowing its in my cupboard.

He stopped playing like this...
When he was relegated to be a perimeter player with limited touches offensively. He lost that fluidity and frustration limited his output. You don’t mess with a well functioning machine. Mismanaged asset, IMHO.
Now that he is 29 instead of 25, let’s hope he will build on last year’s fantastic run as a starter.
Thanks for this Moni
I think of this game frequently when I look at AK’s play when other guys are out of the line-up. He’s allowed to do more when people are injured, and he DOES do more. It makes me wonder how our team would have been if the Jazz never signed Booz as a FA, played AK there, and added Memo/DWill etc . . .

I think the Jazz would have done better
While Boozer is undeniably a force on the offensive end, commanding double teams, he has been a liability at the same time. Until last season, he has been chucking shots at an unnecessarily high rate. He could have been much more productive had he improved his shot selection by cutting the number of shots taken by 30-40%. Last season, he was much more of a team player than in earlier seasons. His defence is a topic for a separate discussion.
AK, if managed properly, could have contributed to the team all these years even in his SF capacity. He has mentioned in the past how difficult it is to play both ends of the floor equally effectively. By overloading Andrei with defensive assignments and excluding him from team play, AK became a non-factor. I blame Sloan for the decisions he’s made. I give Jerry credit for adjusting his course in the last season or two.
So...
I’ve told you how much I love AK, right? :)

Awesome
Man I miss those days when the Lakers’ inside presence consisted of Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown.
Thanks!
I love watching those highlights. I think we’ll see a similar AK this year. I think him and Booz just didn’t have good on court chemistry. I like how him and Al are already talking to each other on the court.
BTW did I tell you I had a dream about you Moni. I dreamt you moved to Utah. I knew it was you because you were wearing a t-shirt with your Twitter avatar on it. We went to all the Jazz games and were so happy. It was so nice to have a girl living near me who loves the Jazz. Twitter dreams are so funny.
Moni is a girl?
O.K., now all these frequent posts make sense.
Meaning that a guy liking AK to the same degree...
would appear a bit suspicious. In the last couple of weeks, since I found this resource, I’ve looked at quite a few posts focusing entirely on AK.
i assure you my liking AK to this degree
and deron, and stockton and malone before them, have nothing to do with my gender.
