Video: Ante Tomic vs. Brose Baskets

Ante Tomic vs. Brose Baskets

Today's offering includes a candid camera moment.

Ante Tomic vs. Virtus Roma

Note: This is the game ut2006 wrote a fanpost about a couple of days ago.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm one of the fans that don't think Ante Tomic will ever cross the ocean, but I know plenty of Jazz fans are excited about him (paging ForTheLove).

This isn't a highlight film--everything from FTs to defense to complaining to the refs to misses to alley-(lay)ups to falling on the floor is included. Those that like to skip ahead to the end of books can fast forward to 3:45, which is where the best move of the video can be found.

@Moni

From the small poll sample so far seems like people are fairly interested in Tomic updates. Maybe you ought to do the updates; fanposts seem to be rarely read.
For the record, I think Tomic is going to be a special player here. For the right dollar amount, I think he’ll come over. (Splitter, the Euro MVP came over for around 3 and half mil a year)

wow...

I guess I expected him to be a little better…

you just keep on thinking its my fault, and stay an inch or two outta kicking distance!

Agreed

The guy is not there- a stereotypical Euroleague big. He offers no D.

TOMIC

looks to have a nice hook shot with either hand

alright, i'll keep up with these if i can find the video

fwiw, i was impressed with his footwork and ability to box out and stay between his man and the basket. didn’t see much on the offensive end though, except hook shots.

Haha, Thanks for the shout out :).

Couple of things. I think Tomic is very raw but very talented. I think he could be something special if he can actually live up to his potential. Also have the right kind of coaching.

My love affair with Tomic has actually been slighted some by the development of Fesenko. Fes for whatever reason, has seemed to take light year jumps during the offseason. If he continues to progress like this, I’d much rather pay Fes to be a pack up center for 1-3 million a year, than try to buy out Tomic for 4-6 mill or whatever it would take.

That being said, can you honestly tell me you don’t want to see the possibity of a second team with Tomic as the PF and Fes as the Center? Can you imagine how sweet and hilarious that would be!?

Fesenko will cost more

After a solid season with the Jazz Fesenko will command at least 4M. He will be unrestricted FA and I am sure will land a sweet offer with more playing time. Sloan doesn’t believe in Fesenko.

Tomic needs to toughen up. He is way too soft and lanky and uncoordinated defensively. A few sweet moves in the paint are nice, but you want to see a full package. He would need at least two more years.

I think you're underestimating how

much it could cost to get Tomic over here.

Fesenko also loves playing for the Jazz. He’s said it multiple times and he’s getting alot more playing time so far this season then he has previously.

You’re right about Tomic needing to develop more though. He’s very raw. Which could be a very good reason to keep Fesenko. He already knows the system and we’ve “broken” him in so to speak. Where as Tomic could take awhile. That being said, I have no problem with them bringing him over if he’s cheap and willing to work.

i'll just post new videos here in the same post and update the title

to reflect the newest video, rather than creating a new post every time.
