Trade with Golden State

Apparently no one is untouchable on the Warriors roster.  We have two needs on the Jazz as we all know... a defensive center and a guard who can shoot and be a defensive stopper.  The Warriors are shopping Raja Bell and his expiring contract.  I know he hasn't played for them becuase of wrist surgery but it sounds like he will be back towards the end of the season.  But I would love to see him back in a Jazz uni.

SO this is it...

Raja and Biedrins for Memo and CJ.  We gain about 1.5 mill total in the contracts but Raja is in his last year.  So that could be 5.5 mill off the books next year if it doesn't work out.  But we obvioulsy get Biedrins. I feel he perfectly fits the role in defensive minded center that we need.

Memo could be a peice that Golden State would be interested in. And I feel that he is currently the most expendable peice to the Jazz puzzle right now along with the log jam at the 2/3 spot.

Would you do this trade if it was proposed to you?

I would do this trade in a heartbeat

This is the single greatest trade I have ever seen in over 35 years of trade watching. You, my friend, are a genius. I would take this over a Jarron Collins/Dwayne Wade trade. If I was the Jazz GM, I would propose this trade with the Warriors right this instant because I’ve never seen a better trade in my life. Thank you Ozzy3313 for posting this because without you I never would have seen the greatest trade ever.

Thank you so much. It has been an honor.

I hope you're being serious! haha

I would be elated to see this trade go down. I would like to see what more people have to say about it though…

slight change

Instead of Okur, maybe it should be Boozer and Miles for Biedrins and Bell.

noway

I think Boozer or Okur is worth a little more than Biedrins. Plus Biedrins is also a toxic asset (9M / 5 yrs).

I might say yes to:

Jazz gets:
Turiaf (4M / 2 yrs) – A good defender / hated him against us in playoffs
Randolf (2M / 2 yrs) – A good young PF
B. Wright (2.5M / 2 yrs) – Trade bait
Bell (5M / 1 yr) – I don’t know why.

GS gets:
Miles (3.7M / 2 yrs) – Better players in the same pos
Boozer (12M / 1 yr) – Don’t think I need to explain
Koufos (1M / 2 yrs) – Useless / Trade bait

Right now we are playing like a contender so am not sure if I want any trades at this moment.

nice one

I like this trade better. Saves the Jazz i think almost 4M in luxury tax, gets 2 prospects in B. Wright and Anthony Randolph (who I think will be awesome someday), a perimeter defender in Bell and a hustle player and post defender in Turiaf.

I don’t think Golden State will go for this though, especially if they are not sure if Boozer will re-sign with them in the off season.

lol, how is biedrins a toxic asset/

1 of best rebounding centers in NBA who shoots over 60% (yes it’s all put back dunks but who cares, he doesn’t take poor shots)

Okur has done nothing

during this 10-1 run. Therefore I see him as much more expendable at the moment than Boozer. But yes Biedrins’ 5 yrs is cause for concern. But I would trade Biedrins for Okur any day.

But yeah I think the Dubs have 3 or 4 players that would help our team. Randolph and Turiaf can play the 5 and they BLOCK SHOTS. I wouldn’t consider Brandan Wright trade bait at all. He is so lengthy and athletic.

Any way you look at it, the Dubs have a lot of peices that they are willing to part with and, if put on a real basketball team (unlike the one they are on now), each of them could thrive.

But right now Memo is easily the most expendable peice we have.

Okur has done everything

He has laid low and allowed his teammates to find their groove and build their confidence….Ozzy, you’re a fool.

But Millsap gets more minutes

Which is all that really matters

And when they do

some fans still want them traded… Like Boozer. I’m not a Boozer fan but you can’t argue that he has played very well.

I think a new 2 year extension warrants a little better than the 12 points and 4 rebounds or whatever Memo is putting up this year. Not to mention taking minutes from Mannsap

And I say this as a Boozer hater.

Speaking of Biedrins...

Has anyone seen his free throw numbers this year? He’s 2 for 20! Even for a 52% career free throw shooter, that’s pathetic. I’m not saying I wouldn’t want him because of this. I’m just pointing out how ridiculously bad he’s been at the line this year. 2 for 20. Seriously, Andris?

But he doesn't get to the line much either

another cause for concern

biedrins can’t seem to stay healthy.

True.

But the same thing plagues Kevin Martin, who would be nice to trade for too.

He had a great game

And it’s about time. He was aggressive to the room and shot it when he was open. He played great. He gave up so many offensive rebounds though. But he played great. And it was good to see.

I don’t think the Jazz do anything before the deadline. They’re playing too well. And I’m fine with that. The only thing I see maybe happening is Brewer to Memphis. But that even seems doubtful.
