The Downbeat - 17 March 2010 - #187 - The Top O' The Morning To Ya Edition
The greatest play of DeShawn Stevenson's career (via SBN). I have no idea what song is playing and what it is at the end though.
If Ronnie Price plays tonight (GTD), maybe he'll have a huge game given the luck of the Irish. The Jazz will be in the greens tonight and of course he wears #17.
In addition, we might have our replacement or Ronnie Brewer's chocolate milk commercial,
"My wife asked me the other day, do I need to drink more milk?" Price said. "I told her, 'You know what? Maybe so.'"
"I'm Ronnie Price. When I need the extra energy to dunk over guys a foot taller than me, I drink chocolate milk. Ahhh."
You can almost set your clock to it... Memo in his post-baby return is well above his season averages. In the last 8 games, he's putting up 18 & 8 while shooting 54% from the field and 37% from the arc. The only problem with having a post-baby bump is that gestation is 9 months so at one point or another it's going to interfere with the season. I guess if he's going to have the post-baby bump, now is the best time to have it.
And just like that, Korver shot 27% from three to finish out the season.
Maybe it's just because it's St. Patrick's Day and I'm looking for it more but I've hit a lot of 17s today. The SLC Dunk tourney challenge group has 17 entries as of now. When I was looking up Ronnie Price information, Siler's article mentioned that he had missed 17 games (up to that point).
The Jazz are 3-1 (no game in 2005) over the past 5 years when playing on the 17th. Korver has been hot on the 17th in his two such games with the Jazz going for 15 & 17. Man, it's almost like the numbers on LOST.

8. My wife has a post-baby bump just above her belt. I shouldn’t talk though, I do too.
4. I watched Mike Miller in warm-ups shooting threes. That guy can shoot….and pass and handle. I recall thinking when he was still in college (I watched him play live at Vanderbilt’s house) that he had the size and skill set of Larry Legend. I still believe that. The reason Larry is a Legend and Miller is merely a good player is a) He doesn’t defend and rebound like Bird, b) the pace, size, athleticism of the game has changed since 1984, c) Miller doesn’t look to score on every play. But he dropped 12 3’s in a row in warmups, missed one and dropped about 5 more. And they are beautiful shots too, form wise. I wouldn’t mind having him on our team. He was the field general too; all the communication from the bench went through him.
Also, on #4. Kyle comes out a good five minutes before the second half and shoots free throws. I wonder why he’s the best free throw shooter in the building every night. I wonder what Fesenko is doing for those five minutes.
I'll make it coach.
the jazz win by 11-15 points tonight.
no jinxes either.
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood"

I'll agree with that
I think we’ll be looking at an almost carbon-copy version of the Wizards game.
The trouble is, Minnesota is becoming another OKC. They’re piling up on the lottery players. By the time they’re done “rebuilding” (through losing every game possible), they’re going to be stacked. They “have” Rubio now, as an asset, but are still losing games because they don’t HAVE him.
So we’ll have Portland, OKC, and MN full of talent, where the two “coaching teams” (Denver and Utah) get to earn their money the hard way.
Forgive me, I felt like griping…
it will be tough to make it to 56 wins now. i don't think 55 wins will overtake the nuggets either.

1. Ha Ha
One of the few times DeShawn was on the same page as Coach?
"He is STUPID but he knows that he is STUPID and that almost makes him smart."
