I am slightly intoxicated...and tearful.
I feel like that’s the most appropriate reaction to this game. Poor Sweet Wesley. He’s gonna have nightmares about that missed three and missed tip-in for weeks, and he doesn’t deserve to, because he is the reason why we’re suffering this fate in the second round instead of the first (okay, the Ninja’s awesomeness contributed a little). Even in my sorrow, I love these guys. If it has to go down this way, so be it. I wouldn’t trade this team for anything.

I’ve read through the game thread a couple times now, and I can’t quite fathom what comment(s) could make you say this. I’m far from saying Lakers fans are the scourge of the earth themselves, but having had the experience of being surrounded by many of your brethren in EnergySolutions Arena who were absolutely determined to be the biggest d-bags they could possibly be (and succeeding) it’s just really rich to hear someone who seems a lot like those fans (referring to kind67) come in here and cast aspersions on anyone else. I guess I should have been more clear that it’s just ridiculous for this particular Laker fan, if he does share the characteristics of those ones at the game, to call anyone else a disgrace to the human race. I can abide by reasonable Laker fans (like you seem to be) who are content to love their own team, and realize that doing so doesn’t require them to constantly put down opposing fans and generally be a**holes. It’s the ones like kind67, who seem to exist in greater proportion among Laker fans than among any other fanbase I’ve ever had experience with, who I absolutely can’t stand.

he is new to SB Nation and hasn’t commented on Silver Screen and Roll. He has however commented here. That tells me all I need to know. He is just here to stir the pot and not really interested in a serious discussion.
PS, isn’t the word “kind” in his name sort of an oxymoron? And if he was born in ’67 then he really has no excuse for being that way.

I should have just ignored him, because you’re right, he’s clearly just a newbie and “kind” of an idiot. But with that loss still stinging, I needed to take out a little of my frustration on somebody, and there he was. I still am curious about which posts he (or anyone else) found so offensive that they would warrant that particular comment. But it looks like he’s either gone away or been banned, so I’ll probably never get my answer.

That’s where you made a wrong turn – those aren’t my brothers … they may root for the same team, but I have no more to do with them than you do with all other Utah Jazz fans, some of whom have criminal records, and others are just exemplary people … which sports team you root for does not say a lot about you, contrary to popular belief …

i didn't mean "brethren" in the literal sense where it means brothers, I meant it in the general sense of being fellow Laker fans
And it’s been said again and again and again, and I won’t quarrel with this: there are good, genuine fans of every team and mean-spirited, despicable fans of every team. I didn’t say (nor did I mean to say) that you or ps were the latter kind. What I did mean to say is that, from my personal experience with other fan bases (and I have a pretty good amount of that experience, as both a visiting fan and a home fan with opposing visiting fans around me), there are a considerably higher proportion of the latter type among Laker fans than among any of the other fanbases I’ve had experience with. Maybe my experience is different from others, but I’ve never had nasty, gloating things yelled at me after a loss by Suns fans, or Spurs fans, or even Rockets fans (who hate us more than we typically hate the Lakers), or any other kinds of fans, and yet have had that happen on multiple occasions in both the regular season and postseason with Laker fans. Again, this is just my experience, but when the difference between Laker fans and other fans is that glaring, I can’t help but draw some unfavorable conclusions. I know lots of admirable Laker fans, who are as passionate about their team as I am about mine, and who totally refrain from being jerks about things, but I’ve just had way too much experience with the bad kind of Laker fans to form anything close to a favorable opinion of Laker fans in general.
