What is up Jazz Fans!!! Just wanted to chip in my two cents on what I feel the Jazz could do to improve this summer and wanted to throw out a wild idea and that I feel could get them past being the Laker's Washington Generals every year come May.
First off I am not a true Jazz Fan rather a die hard Sacramento Kings Fan, however I did just spend the last 3 years of my life in SLC and the Jazz grew on me(the wifes family all being diehards helped this as well), so in a way they're kinda of like my step team at this point. So here is a quick rundown of what I've come up with, don't beat me up too bad it's just a thought.
The Lakers have really beat the Jazz up the last 3 years mostly with Length and Size. The Jazz just have no answer for them in this department. Boozer and Milsap where too short for Bynum and Gasol, until this year Fes wasn't ready and when he was there was only 1 of him and Memo is a 6'11" jump shooter, so yeah not big enough. So here is what I'm suggesting to finally getting them over those Purple and Gold Knuckleheads we all hate.
First off let Boozer walk as The Jazz have gone as far as they can with him. He's about to become Elton Brand's bad contract from 08 part 2 and they should stay far far away from this. Resign Wes Matthews and Fesenko. Then try and see if Boston would take Memo for a retiring Rasheed Wallace(Who would then retire and that contract would come off our books) Then use the newly aquired up cap space from Boozer and Memo to sign two big men who defend, rebound and protect the rim to some extent. Four guys I would suggest would be Tyson Chandler, Brenden Haywood, Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq. Say we sign Chandler and Shaq(yeah he's old and fat but he would relish getting a chance to stick it to the Lakers in May, right??) Now with Chandler, Fesenko and Shaq we have 3 huge guys to throw at that big Lakers front line. Tyson Chandler also excels in a Pick and Roll offense. Plus AK would reke havoc off the weakside with a bigger lineup. This would give you a rotation that looks like this
Starters
C Shaquille O'Neal
PF Tyson Chandler
SG Wes Matthews
Bench
F Paul Milsap
C Krylo Fesenko
G/F CJ Miles
Backups
PG Ronnie Price
F Gordon Haywood
Like I said just a thought, looks crazy but def gives you what you need to compete with the Lakers who always struggle against teams that match their size. What do you guys think
