This could be the greatest thing ever. According to the seller, it's an original oil signed by AK. The bear and eagle represent his ties to Russia and the US. Also, moni will now be broke.
I should probably just end The Downbeat right here.
I'm not sure how much of the FIBA tourney you've taken in over the past few weeks, but man, why does Durant have to be in our division? He was head and shoulders above everyone there. A lot of the world's best players weren't there but I don't think it would have mattered much.
The worst part about having to face him 4 times a year is that you can't hate him. And after bringing home the gold medal after a 16-year absence for team USA, he's going to be even more insufferable now. I mean with Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron, you can respect and admire their game but feel better because they're villains. Not so with Durant. I'll almost feel like sending him a thank you tweet after he lights us up for 40+ again.
Does anyone have any footage of him kicking a dog or something?
Last season we had a series of posts where you were voting to cut the least valuable player on the team. We're going to run that again building up to the start of training camp. We don't have everyone signed yet, so there are going to be some assumptions made with the bottom guys.
How it works is that I'll give you a list of the bottom 5-6 players and you vote on who would least likely to be missed if they were cut. There wasn't much surprise last season about the man at the top, and there won't be this year, but it will be interesting to see where everyone lands this season with all of the turnover.
The first one will start later today.
So the Bulls really are trying to copy the Jazz.
Now that Fess is back in town, the Jazz are trying to get him signed before training camp starts (two weeks!).
Let's say for whatever reason, Fess signs with another team. I don't think he will. But if he did, and the Jazz don't match, what would the big man's legacy be? Some might say it was his interviews and comments.
For me, it would be that Fesenko started the chain reaction of blowing up the Nuggets. No one will forget Carmelo's "Fesenko, Fesenko, Fesenko" lamentation after Fess was probably the biggest reason the Jazz took the Denver series last season.
Now Melo wants out of Denver. And if that happens, we could see another rebuilding process start again.
