With Paul Millsap likely to miss Wednesday's home preseason opener against the Portland Trailblazers, Derrick Favors is likely to make his first start of the year, the Tribune has learned.

This is what most of us were waiting for. The question is now, will he give it up? You hate to see a starting spot lost because of injury -- Sloan adhered to that ideology -- but if he has another game like he did Monday, how can you sit him again?

This will be hit shot to show that he can play with the starters, stay out of foul trouble, and compete against the best one of the best (should LaMarcus Aldridge play).

I don't envy Tyrone Corbin's decision.
