While You Were Sleeping: The Lottery Strikes Back

[Note by Basketball John, 04/06/11 10:59 AM MDT ] Thanks to Prodigal Punk for doing this.  We'll do these to finish out the season.

With no playoff seeding to to keep track of, here is a little something to start your day.  Your cup of coffee before your Downbeat breakfast, if you will.

Here's a breakdown of all the games that happened last night, and their impact on the Jazz's lottery pick from the Nets.

The Good

Sacramento Kings 104 @ Houston Rockets 101

The Kings are 7-3 in their last 10 games, and the win last night came because of some great contributions by Dalembert, Thornton, and Cousins.  They seem to be pulling things together, just in time to jilt their loyal Sacramento fans.  Good news for the Jazz, as the Kings remain just one game behind the Nets.

Sacramento:  23-54

Detroit Pistons 105   @  Washington Wizards 107

The Wiz pull one out on a late breakaway dunk by John Wall.  Tracy McGrady did some weird stuff at the free throw line.  This helps keep the Wizards close, at just 3 games back of the Nets.

Washington:  21-56

The Ugly

Toronto Raptors 118 @ New York Knicks 131

This was a defensive slug fest, akin to the NCAA Basketball Championship.  Is your sarcasm meter working?  Despite a monster game from DeMar DeRozan the Raptors helped no one but themselves as they watched the Knicks rain 3's down on them with great vengeance and furious anger.

Raptors:  21-56

Minnesota Timberwolves 105 @ New Jersey Nets 107

The Nets eek this one out thanks to some all too familiar heroics from DWill (must...not..cry..).  Despite the TWolves being infuriatingly close to helping the Jazz's cause, I expected this to be a NJ win in my Lottery post.  We're all waiting in great anticipation of the Nets decision to shut down DWill.

Nets:  24-53
