The #3 would be a lot more interesting...
… if a couple more of the high profile underclassmen had stayed in the draft. I think it’d be a lot easier to trade down or to next year if Jones or Barnes had stayed in. This draft seems like it has a LOT of “who knows” type picks like Kanter and the 2 Euros, the dude from Congo, etc. Usually those are gambles in the 6-9 type of range, but they’re probably going to be taken higher this year.
Honestly, if Kawhi can work on his shot, I have NO problem with taking him at 3. I think he’ll be a solid contributor with a ceiling of being pretty spectacular, but with an expectation of consistency over flash.
