Taking the Jazz fans temperature on two things......
Two things that I want to know from Jazz fans:
First, with Jerry Sloan no longer the coach of the Utah Jazz, are you even MORE excited for this upcoming draft? By that I mean, do you think that the player who comes in will have a chance to play more, and does that get you more pumped?
I don’t have any numbers, I am basing my post here on the old saying that Sloan doesn’t like to play the young guys. I think it’s a fair criticism.
Now, with Sloan hanging out in Illinois (and not in Los Angeles-that’s a different topic for a different day), do you think that Ty Corbin will play this new player more?
I have to think so. The Jazz aren’t going to be title contenders next year. Why not develop the nucleus of the future?
The second thing I want to know Is, if the opportunity presents itself, would you be willing to trade Paul Millsap, with either draft pick, in an effort to move up? Obviously, there are a lot of scenarios. I just want to know if you are willing to put Paul on the table.
Give me your thoughts, thanks!

I think the Jazz could get a better player for Paul Millsap. I’m not against trading Millsap, but I think the Jazz could get an established player at a position the Jazz really need, such as small forward or shooting guard using Paul Millsap (and perhaps Raja Bell to make the salaries match), rather than a little-bit-better rookie in a down draft. I’m not even sure that either Irving or Williams are sure bets to be more than pretty good starters (rather than stars).
For example, I have heard that Philadelphia is still interested in trading Andre Iguodala. Perhaps the Jazz could trade Millsap and some combination of other players to Philadelphia for Iguodala, who could fill a need the Jazz have for a good starter at the SG/SF position.

As a long time Jazz fan, I am cautiously excited to see what the team turns into after Sloan’s departure. I think a lot of good things could happen with a fresh coach and a new outlook. Sloan was never one to play the young rookies, so hopefully Ty will learn the need to do so during this rebuilding/retooling process.
As for trading Milsap, I agree with trading anyone so long as it helps the team. In all honesty, I don’t think Milsap will go anywhere unless he asks to be traded. He is everything the Jazz organization stands for. Under appreciated, hard working, zero ego, and tons of heart. He has improved his game each and every year he has been in the league, so I cant imagine the Jazz would ever get rid of him.
The thing about Paul is
He is the quintessential Jazz man, and he is a fan favorite.
But why get rid of him on draft day when you can get more right before the trade deadline. You can also have a better feel for a team that could be lottery bound (It would suck for Sap because he would be stuck on a bad team )
"I hate it! It looks like a stickup at 7-Eleven. Five guys standing there with their hands in the air."
Norm Sloan
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Weldon Drew
I think the young guys will get time if they earn it. Corbin seems like he want sthe guys to work and will hopefully reward work with playing time.
As for Sap he’s an anti Boozer. he doesn’t miss games. he plays injured and doesn’t generally complain. He lost some intensity last year trying to get Al involved but i think if he was given a more go to role he’s an all-star. Trade AL before Sap.
