Comparing the PG's

Brandon Knight with the 3rd pick? Thankfully many of the best "guards" today share something in common, they either went to UK or were coached by Calipari. Look at the list

Rajon Rondo (UK)

Derrick Rose (Memphis)

Tyreke Evans (Memphis)

John Wall (UK)

All of the above are a little different but I felt a worthwhile exercise would be to compare them all in their last season in college with Knight:

Player Games Minutes    FG%     3P%       FT%       Reb             Asst           Stl             T/O        A/TO           PPG
Rondo 34 31 48% 27% 57% 6.10 4.90 2.00 2.30 2.11 11.20
Rose 40 29 48% 33% 71% 4.50 4.70 1.20 2.70 1.77 14.90
Evans 37 29 45% 27% 71% 5.40 3.90 2.10 3.60 1.08 17.10
Wall 37 34 46% 33% 75% 4.30 6.50 1.80 4.00 1.62 16.60
Knight 38 36 42% 38% 79% 4.00 4.20 0.70 3.20 1.33 17.30
Average 37.2 31.8 46% 32% 71% 4.86 4.84 1.56 3.16 1.582 15.42

It's fair to say that Knight stacks up with this group and all four guards detailed above are on the path to stardom or are already there. Not quite as good a distributor as Wall or Rondo but probably the best shooter amongst them which could make his transition to the pros easier.

I can live with drafting Knight definitely, if we do, the front office needs to be real and rebuild. He needs court time and the opportunities which were afforded to the others.

Good job

Kinda puts it into prospective that Knight could be special.

I think Wall’s assist numbers are better because he was passing to DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Daniel Orton, and Eric Bledsoe…all first round draft picks last year.

I could live with Knight or Kanter…
