Basically i don't understand this Brandon Knight love.... He does have an awesome name (my first name happens to be Brandon and Knight is just cool). He measures well as far as height and length is concerned and he seems quick enough. Though he looks to skinny right now. My favorite thing about him is that he seems to have good character.
What scares me is how much of project I think he is. His statistics are not great. His shooting percentage isn't all that impressive at 42.3% from 2 and 37.7% while these numbers aren't terrible they are not outstanding by any means. What really scares me is his turnover to assist ratio, 4.2 assists to 3.2 turnovers these numbers are about the same as Jimmer and Jimmer was consistently double teamed by guys a lot longer and quicker than him (by the way jimmer gets knocked for his assist to turnover ratio all the time). I have listened too and read way more than I should about this upcoming draft and all the scouts and "media experts" talk about him they don't know what position he would be best at the 1 or 2 (just like Jimmer).
I watched 3 kentucky games this year and I wasn't too impressed. I know I am not a scout but I have watched more basketball (college and nba) than most would deem healthy. Each Kentucky game that I watched, I came away wondering if Brandon Knight could pass the ball in the nba. To me he seems much more like a Jason Terry, than a true point guard. Being Jason Terry isn't a bad thing but does that work in our system?
He has potential but is he too risky to take with the 3rd pick? Can he pass the ball? I have questions about his decision making and court vision. Maybe my opinion is flawed because of the few games I watched him play But in my opinion both Kemba and Jimmer are better passers than he is.
