Hi, this is my first post. Since yesterday was Father's day, I'll share my earliest memory of going to a game with my dad. It was an ABA Utah Stars game, featuring Ron Boone. I was 6 at the time and fell asleep. At 12 I booed when they drafted Stockton and at 13 I was at the draft party when they drafted Malone. I cheered! At 15 I sold programs at the games and have remained a life long Jazz Fan. Since I now live in SoCal I follow the Jazz via NBA ticket and come to Utah 1-2 times a season to see a game. Go Jazz!
Ok so the Sixers appear to be shopping Iguodala and are looking to get a big in return. So, how about Jefferson for Iguodala? Iggy is a warrior, doesn't miss games, plays defense and can score. Jefferson would give the Sixers the big that they covet. Reportedly they regret not taking a big (Favors or Cousins) in last years draft with the #2 pick. We would then draft Kanter at #3 who is the 3rd best player available. Kanter should be able to fill Jefferson's points and rebounds and has the fitness/strength to at least potentially be a better defender. Kanter can also run the pick and pop as he has a reliable 15 foot jumpshot similar to Boozer and Malone. I think Jefferson is what he is.
At #12 the Jimmer should be available. We would not only please the fans, but he is a legit deep threat. None of our current point guards are good outside shooters, which makes the pick and roll easy to defend. Not the case with Jimmer. He also appears to be mentally and physically tough. Shouldn't miss any games.
So at the end of the day, we get the elite wing that we need in Iguodala, Jefferson and his negative +/- moves on, we get a cheaper/younger post player in Kanter and we get the Jimmer who helps our outside shooting and at least for now stabilizes our backup point guard spot.
What do you think?
