5 Ways to trade Al

Stay connected for news and updates

Folks, Jefferson needs to go. We've hashed and rehashed why he should or shouldn't go. I'm not going to repeat it all here. In a nutshell, I think Kanter has a brighter future, Al is expensive, and  Kanter, Okur, Fesenko and Favors we could cover our center minutes.  So here's are five suggestions of possible Al Jefferson trades.

Note:  I do realize we have no idea what the new CBA will look like trade wise...but just humor me. We need some form of entertainment to get through this lockout.

Trade #1

Cleveland gets Al (James trade exception)

Utah gets Protected #1 and Semih Erden

Gotta love the salary savings. 3 Turkish centers would be awesome. We'd call them the Ottoman Trio. And a pick. Not bad, eh?

Trade #2

Cleveland gets Al

Utah get Jamison, Erden and protected #1

Just if Cleveland wants to save some salary.

Trade #3

Denver gets Al Jefferson

Utah gets Andre Miller, Timofey Mozgov, 2nd rounder

I think Mozgov could be our Omer Asik. Wouldn't mind seeing MIller's career end here. And Nene could hide Al's defense....

Trade #4

Charlotte gets Big Al

Utah gets Boris Diaw, filler, #1 pick (with some protection)

Diaw is expiring. A pick would be nice.

Trade #5

Indiana gets Big Al

Chicago gets Dahntay Jones or Brandon Rush

Utah gets the expiring contracts of James Posey and AJ Price, plus an Indiana 1st rounder (protected to 15) and a Chicago 1st rounder (protected to 20)
