. . . amazing?
. . . under-used?
. . . not quite a basketball player yet?
. . . stuck between two spots?
I like Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans. I think he's a nice guy, and a bright, positive human being. He also plays basketball for the team I love -- and he does some exciting things on the floor. I am coming to terms with the fact that he's just not going to get a chance to show that this year, his third such year. He does not have the face up game, or ball handling skills to steal a minute or two from the small forward spot -- while guys like Marvin Williams and Paul Millsap can play both the 3 and 4 if needed. And, as a power forward, he's stuck behind a lot of capable candidates. Personally I've love to have him succeed. He's clearly capable of success in moments and flashes.
Like last night when he had the cleanest block ever (so clean you could do pediatric surgery on it), but it was called a foul. Boo!
And yes, perhaps this is just an excuse to post this picture above. I can't find a video of it, but there's this video of Evan's getting the dish from Jamaal Tinsley and finishing with two hands from last game . . .
Evans is, if anything, still a question. Or, a great unknown, if you will. But no matter what happens this season, I hope he does well, and does well here when he gets a chance. And I really, really hope he gets a chance.
