I was pretty happy with the way that Burks played in the preseason - he outplayed Foye by a huge margin (and shot 50% from the three). Somehow he didn't get any minutes (no... 3 minutes does not count) against the Mavs? While Foye did ultimately turn on his shooting, he really struggled to begin with. Maybe coach's intuition told him that Foye would find his rhythm... or maybe he is just going to play veterans no matter what.
Should the Jazz trade Alec Burks?
Personally, I want to see what he can do in a Jazz uniform. I suspect, however, that plenty of GMs would be glad to take him off our hands. When we ultimately trade off Jefferson or Millsap should we throw Burks in to get more out of the deal? He does nothing for us riding the pine, and maybe we could get a piece that Coach would use? It's possible that he just isn't and will not be as good as many of us homers think that he can be - and if that is the case we may be able to get more value out of a trade. And if he is good... well he isn't doing anything for us now and I worry that he'll head off to some big city as soon as he gets the chance out of frustration.
Just wondering what you think... I am pretty frustrated that our lottery pick doesn't get any minutes, and I have been trying to think of ways to remedy the situation.
