Nelson Chenault-US PRESSWIRE

Utah Jazz small forward Marvin Williams will miss Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after suffering a concussion.

Utah Jazz forward Marvin Williams will miss Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to beat writer Jody Genessy. Genessy is also reporting that Williams is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets.

Williams suffered a concussion after a hard fall during Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Hornets. The small forward did not practice on Thursday, and will need to pass a protocol exam before returning to the court.

The loss of Williams is a tough blow for Utah, as he would have matched up against Oklahoma City superstar Kevin Durant. DeMarre Carroll is second on the Jazz depth chart, and is expected to draw the difficult assignment.

Williams has been a solid contributor for the Jazz this season, averaging 10 points and four rebounds per game.

Utah does expect point guard Mo Williams to return to the team's lineup against Oklahoma City after missing three games with a sprained right foot.
