"[Thompson] is either smoking it, or a drug dealer . . . an automatic red flag for any team investing millions on a draftee." Never Forget. (This link presented for the sake of laughing at ourselves, not as a serious commentary)

Quick Recap:

  • Who: The Golden State Warriors
  • What: took it to us
  • When: long and hard all game long
  • Where: inside, outside, and on the run
  • Why: because the Utah Jazz are still on holidays.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Well, more reasonably, things started off well with two inside scores for Al Jefferson at the beginning of the game. However Stephen Curry scored at will and broke the game open with his three point shooting and free throw shooting. The Jazz played catch up most of the way during the first, second, third, and fourth quarters. If only we brought this game to overtime! Then we may have caught them! NExT TiEMS!

Without Mo Williams our point guard play suffered. Jamaal Tinsley got the start, and finished with zero points (not zero shots though), 4 assists, 3 turn overs, and 2 rebounds. Earl Watson came off the bench to also have zero points (also not zero shots though), 3 assists, and 4 turn overs, while 3 rebounds. They played a combined all 48 minutes of this game. So what did they do in ALL of the game? They had 7 assists and 7 turn overs, no points, and 5 rebounds. Yes, my patron St. Kabongo can't come soon enough. Randy Foye had another Randy Foye kind of night (2/8 from deep, 1 assist, played half the game, finished with the worst +/- on the team with a -15). Randy managed 8 points off of 10 shots.

By a point of direct comparison to our top three guards, Golden State's trio of Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jarrett Jack finished with 53 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Andris Biedrins emerged from his slumber to pull down 12 boards to support David Lee's 18 and 9. Lee once again won the one on one matchup against Paul Millsap (14 and 7, with worse fg%). Jefferson had a solid game, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds and 53 fg%. It's more and more looking like he's the best player on a middling team.

Our bench did some things right. Derrick Favors got into it after he felt like a warrior was going after team mate Enes Kanter. Alec Burks nearly had another double double (9 points and 8 rebounds, along with 2 assists). Gordon Hayward went 2/5 from downtown and finished with a triple couple.

Hey, it's just our third loss at home. It's fine. We shot poorly and didn't play any defense.

What were you expecting? To win with this type of effort? Seems like some of our players did. Good thing is that this slap in the face loss should motivate us to finish December strong. Don't go out meekly, into that night, Jazz.
