Jazz give: Al Jefferson
Jazz get: Evan Turner (3 years remaining on rookie deal), Andres Nocioni (2 years left, both Team Options so he's expiring for all the Jazz' (logical) intents and purposes) it'd be nice to get a first rounder in this deal too, but I'd take it without a pick if I had to.
Just throwing out a trade idea. Philly could use an upgrade over Spencer Hawes, plus they think they're contenders, so they might as well go for it. Evan Turner is criminally under-utilized there, Collins seems content to roll with the likes of Jodie Meeks and Lou Williams instead. In Collins' defense, there's a lot of overlap between Iguodala's game and Turner's game. . . in my opinion the Jazz could use that.
Of course the Jazz would lose the guy who has been their best player, but in my opinion Jefferson has put a lid on too many other players' development. His departure makes it possible for Kanter and Favors to get around 30 minutes per game and for Evans to get more than zero.
Turner would hopefully supplant Bell in the starting lineup and get somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 minutes as well.
I'd say cut Nocioni as soon as he gets here.
My ideal rotation post-trade would look something like this:
PG- Harris 24 min, Watson 24 min
SG/SF - Turner 30+, Hayward 30+, Burks ~15, Miles/Howard/Bell ~20 between them
PF/C - Millsap 30, Favors 30, Kanter 30, leaves Evans with about 6. (would love to get Evans more, but can't really see how with the team's best interests in mind. Unless he can play/defend the 3.)
Any thoughts?
