Utah Jazz at Indiana Pacers, Feb 7, 2012 5:00 PM MST

Tonight the Jazz take on the Pacer in Indiana. It is a home coming for Gordon Hayward, where he will be tested early and often by the Pacers Danny Granger and Paul George. Indiana is a solid team, while we were still trying to figure out who we are.

Paul Millsap David West
Gordon Hayward Danny Granger
Raja Bell Paul George
Devin Harris Darren Collison
Earl Watson George Hill (INJ)
C.J. Miles Dahntay Jones

Correct...

One is a D-League fill in, the other just hasn’t had the Jazz since Ty took over. The ref we have the bad record with (Stafford) seems to like road times though.

It's not that complicated

When Kanter and Favors were on, we cut down the lead and stopped them scoring inside

Bring back Al and Hibbert starts getting whatever he wants again.

I don’t know why Ty persists in playing Al so many minutes during off games. We have a lot of offensive options, but not many defensive.

Ergh, if all season is going to be like this (best performers on the bench) it’s going to be a frustrating one.

I just wish he'd mix up the big rotation, not always play the same two together.

Kanter with Millsap and Favors with Jefferson. That way when Favors and Kanter aren’t on the floor, the middle doesn’t become so soft.

Al's ankle might be a bit sore....

I'm starting to think part of the problem is Harris doesn't want to be here

He played with trade rumours for years at NJ, and while at the Jazz there’s always been talk about getting our ‘PG of the Future.’

This, ladies and gentlemen

Is a prime example of why you can’t rely on Al Jefferson in must-score, end of the game situations. He can’t be that focal of a point in your offense.

I just don’t understand why you can’t just run your set, all the same. Not to go all Sloan on you, but it’s not as if once there are 4 minutes left instead of 5, some unwritten rule requires you to go iso to your best guy.

Whatever. Rant end. Ha.

I disagree.

I just think it’s stupid to sub out guys who are playing well, regardless of bench or starter status.
As Al misses. Never mind, you’re right.

Haha. It's just an opinion

But after that travel, that’s now 4 straight failed Al possessions. I think we could find a better shot than iso-ing Al against 7-2 Roy Hibbert. There are better shots on the floor.

Al is embarrassing in the clutch.

And why is Howard our one bench player in?!?!?!?!?! hating ty right now.

by dwillforlife on Feb 7, 2012 7:13 PM MST reply actions

Seriously

What has he done to warrant being on the floor right now? Hell I’ll take Raja

No movement on offense

Because the other guys know Al is just going to Iso it.

This is not good basketball. I miss our bench

Poll

Is Ty telling the guys to go to Al or is Al being a black hole?

Al is a black hole... but everyone should know that.

It’s not like we’re running the triangle thru him. I’d imagine if it’s going there, that’s the plan.

Try and remain positive

They did not roll over, and Indiana is at full strength and already much better than NYK. We bounced back, even with a loss.

I don't mind rotations, but just PLAY WHO IS PLAYING WELL.

And it can be a 2 minute by 2 minute type of rotation, imo.

Al went 6-17

Hibbert was a terrible matchup for him, I don’t know why he should warrant 8 more shots than anyone else when he has a bad matchup, but whatevs.

They fought, the young guys looked great, and as always
