Just another trade scenario

Just another trade scenario

I just read an article in SB Nation talking about how because of Kobe’s hero ball Bynum was left out of the offense and how LA should trade Bynum so that Bynum can flourish somewhere else. This got me thinking about what it would take to get Bynum here. I know it doesn’t solve any front court log jam issues but that can come later. I think this would make us more attractive to Steve Nash and it would improve our team. Let me know what you think.

3 Teams, Utah, LAL, Orlando

We trade: Al Jefferson, Devin Harris, Raja Bell

We get: Andrew Bynum, Steve Blake, JJ Rederick, LAL’s first round pick

Benefit: We get one of the two best centers in the league that is young and would fit very nicely with Favors. We would have the best front court in the league. We get the shooting guard we need. We also get rid of Raja Bell and his contract. We get a serviceable point guard until we can upgrade.

Cost: We do give up our point guard but may be able to get a point guard of the future in the draft. I also think this makes us more attractive to Steve Nash. This doesn’t do anything for our front court log jam though.

LAL Trades: Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Meta World Peace

LAL Gets: Hedo Turkoglu, Dwight Howard, Devin Harris

Benefit: They get the center they really want, they get a good point guard (much better than Ramon Sessions or Derek Fisher).

Cost: They have to take Hedo’s contract, there front court become weaker with the loss of both starters.

Orlando Trades: Dwight Howard, and Hedo Turkoglu

Orlando gets: Big Al, Pau Gasol, Raja Bell

Benefit: They get a 2 for 1 trade on big men. They also get rid of Turkoglu’s bad contract. They also get a good veteran wing in Raja to replace Hedo.

Cost: Dwight Howard (who may leave anyway and even if he stays would be trouble all year long).

Option: Instead of trading for Steve Blake we trade for Meta World Peace. I know that this may be blasphemy but I can tell you Dirk would never mess with us again and MWP could be our enforcer.
