Trade Proposal 2 –
Utah with Orlando and Utah with Pheonix
Part 1 -
Jazz Trade: Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap, Josh Howard (sign and trade), Andrei Kirelenko (sign & trade)
Jazz Get: JJ Rederick, Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu
Benefit to Jazz:
- Dwight Howard to pair along Derek Favors
- Less log jam at PF/C
- 3 point shooting (Rederick and Turkoglu)
Cost:
- Would hate to see Milsap go
- Do we really have a shot to keep Howard? I think if we got a great point guard like Nash we could keep him content (I don’t think D-Will would come back but if he did could you imagine that?).
- Turkoglue’s contract will be painful
- Another vet to steal time from Burks
Magic get: Jefferson, Milsap, Howard, Kirelenko
Benefit to the Magic:
- Good front court option, two great players for 1
- Escape the Howard nightmare
- get a great underpaid player in Milsap
- still get to have a Howard on their team
- get our bird rights to Kirelenko
- get rid of Turkoglu contract
Variations: Leave Turkoglu and Kirelenko off and use the Golden State pick to make it work for Magic, I would do this if howard signed an extension.
2nd Half of the trade
Jazz Trade: trade exception, Devin Harris, 2nd round pick
Jazz Get: Steve Nash (sign & trade)
Benefit to the Suns:
- something for nothing
- trade exception
- good point guard who is arguably underpaid
PG: Nash, Watson, Tinsley
Wings: Hayward, Rederick, Burkes, Turkoglue, Carrol
PF/C: Howard, Favors, Kanter, Evans
