First off, sorry Amar for stealing your catch phrase, but it is highly applicable here. Secondly, stop it with all the Big Al hate. He's on our team.
The way I see it, you don't have to like him or agree with how our team uses him, but he's a dang good player, and helped us win a lot of games last season. I know that moving forward, keeping him in his current role is not the best option we have. But there is 0 reason to hate him. You can criticize him all you want, but you shouldn't do it in a tone that is negative. He is a member of our favorite team. If you hate him, you might as well hate our team, because as far as we have control of, he's going to be on our team until at LEAST the trade deadline, if not longer.
But don't worry, our FO isn't stupid. No matter what it looks like in the present, I'm 100% sure they have a plan, and the goal is a championship. Look at it this way though, they want to keep the Jazz in Utah, so they can't do anything too risky (which could possibly result in Greg moving the Jazz, if he really would move if he lost enough money). But they do want to win a championship. That's why we drafted Enes "the project" Kanter at 3, and not a safer pick like Brandon Knight. It's also why we're trying to keep Big Al and Millsap for at least the next year, if not further down the line. We want to win a championship, but we need some stability.
Also, championships that aren't given to the Lakers or Celtics take a lot of luck along with all the planning and work. I believe we have been aiming for a championship at LEAST since Stockton and Malone if not further back than that. We just haven't had much luck yet.
But all in all, I'm extremely sick of all the hate. We never screamed to trade CJ Miles because he was inconsistent (on offense and defense), we never screamed to trade Earl Watson, because the guy doesn't do much on the court besides bring toughness, I've never heard of a Jazz Man being on the receiving end of as much hate (besides Mark Jackson and maybe Derek Fisher) as Big Al. That may partly be me, because I don't know many players we have hated. But still, it's kind of rediculous guys. So his defense isn't very good, and his offense isn't quite what we'd like it to be.
Deal with it, we'll improve our other guys, don't worry about it.
