ESPN just tweeted that Westbrook will be out for 4-6 weeks with arthoscopic knee surgery. First off, I feel bad for the guy. Now that we have that out of the way, this means that Burke will match up with Reggie Jackson or Fish when we play the Thunder. Could be a big confidence game for him.
Burke's matchups for the first 5 games:
Which of these matchups do you all believe will be the most favorable?
Jackson is long and athletic, but not a terribly dialed in defender at this point in his career. Could be tough. Dragic/Bledsoe each have their respective size/athleticism advantages, and Bledsoe is a hawk when guarding his man 1on1. Beverley is a defensive savant. D-Will is D-Will. Bradley is an exception man defender.
If Trey doesn't take advantage of that opening night matchup, I think he could have a bumpy start. I'm not too worried about it, as all rookies will have their ups and downs, but that's a pretty rough opening stretch as PG.
