Merry Pre-Christmas road trip to everyone! While it's not quite over yet, the Jazz are currently back East and have played pretty well, and also pretty terribly. The 2-2 record straight up and against the spread this week puts the team at 13-16-1 ATS (and 13/17 over/under). Still with 1 game to go in the trip, a split this far is pretty ideal with this team. Let's see how things played out:
Miami 117, Jazz 94 (Jazz were +12.5, O/U 198.5). Ah yes, the Alec Burks coming out game. Unfortunately, it was smack dab in a putrid second half that the superior Heat blow out the inexperienced Jazz. It happens. Sucks that it happens on a night I had the Jazz however, and the correct pick was Miami and the over. Lots of Jazz peeps had the opposition on this night... and they were spot on!
Winners: @New_OrleansJazz, @Run_Pappy, @trillwright, @BrianBonks, @chang_max, @two4bagger, and @samq626
Jazz 86, Orlando 82 (Jazz were +3.5, O/U 197). This was a great game if you are a Jazz fan. Trey Burke outplayed Victor Oladipo (I'm being kind here), the Jazz closed out a game late, and team showed great poise. 30 points by our beloved Trey went along with 8 dimes and 7 boards... special, special night. Unfortunately, for you fans of offense, nobody else on either side decided to play any, and the game was well under the total. Jazz and under gets the tally.
Winners: @New_OrleansJazz, @carty64, @Jazz6thman, @da_breezman, @KennChapman17, and @seanp33
Atlanta 118, Jazz 85 (Jazz were +7.5, O/U 198.5). Remember Trey Burke? I think I just mentioned his greatness and his statue outside the ESA... well, rookies are still rookies for a reason, and a 2 point performance would be his contribution to this drubbing. The Hawks dished out 32 assists (all 12 Hawks who played had at least 1), and this game was over early. Utah scored 34 first half points and the over looked bleak, but fortunately(?) the Jazz continued to play horrendous defense while also scoring some points, and the Hawks/over combo would collect their spoils.
Winners: @Peter_J_Novak and @brianspittler
Jazz 88, Charlotte 85 (Jazz were +4.5, O/U 188). Roller coaster anyone? Time for another edition of former Jazzman theatre. Ronnie Price in Orlando, Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll, and Paul Millsap in Atlanta, and now Big Al Jefferson in Charlotte. This game was offensively offensive, but the Jazz battled, and Trey Burke battled back to lead the Jazz to yet another road victory. Big Al played well, but missed a couple clutch shots, and the Jazz would win outright. Neither team could score, so the Jazz and under was the ticket.
Winners: @Mac_Jazz and @JazzyTameKate
Been awhile since we had so few winners on a back to back basis. Interesting to see how the games next week play out. There will only be three as the Jazz visit the Grizzlies on Monday, get the Lakers at home on Friday, then fly out to play the Clippers in LA on Saturday. Will be interesting to see how we finish out the calendar year and move into January. I see some games we might even be favored in in our near future.
9.5 - @bjcseven8 - @Run_Pappy and BFBen
7 - @BrianBonks, @seanp33, @New_OrleansJazz, and @JazzyTameKate
6 - @RxMike12, @brytonbenson, @da_breezman, and @carty64
5.5 - @samq626 and @OhioHadley
Not a ton of movement on the board this week, but that just means there's more time to catch up! Get your picks in, and good luck this week in #JazzOdds!
