So of all the trade scenarios that I have read in the past few days, I don't really love any of them. However, I think the Jefferson to the Spurs trade could work out well. Here is one trade that I would do in a minute if I were Kevin O'Lindsey.
Jefferson to Celtics
Garnett to Clipperland
Bledsoe to Jazz
Why: I like Millsap a heckuva lot more than I like Jefferson on the Jazz. I think i like Bledsoe, and i think I really like him when you pair him with Burks and Hayward in the backcourt. This leaves us with an eight man rotation of:
Millsap, Favors, Kanter, Hayward, Burks, Bledsoe, Demarre and Mo. Marvin, Mel the Abuser, Jeremy, Earl and the Murph are forgettable, but the vets will probably see extended minutes as long as we keep getting these young guys in the draft.
Why the other teams do it: DL talks Boston into thinking they can turn Jefferson into the next KG. The Clippers think they are going to win a championship with KG.
While this trade probably makes us a little better next year, and probably negligibly better this year, there is a bigger question at hand. Barring a trade for a superstar, are we ever going to be that good with the core we are building on?
