Latest Mock Draft

Stay connected for news and updates

Latest mock draft that I saw on ESPN has the Jazz selecting Carter-Williams from Syracuse and Jamaal Franklin SG/SF from San Diego St. First off, I have watched many Syracuse games this year and am not too sold on the prospect of having Carter-Williams run the point for the jazz. Each game I've watched, he has made countless errors in big games (last nights game against georgetown especially, and id rather my PG shoot better than 28% from the 3. I agree he does do a lot of things well, but just don't believe he is capable of succeeding right away in the NBA. A couple players I'd prefer would be moving up and selecting Trey Burke from Michigan. There is no player in college basketball that is more fun to watch than Burke. Kid is a natural scorer AND leads the nation in assist to turnover ratio. Another PG I'd prefer would be Kabongo from Texas. He would still be available with our second pick, allowing us to use our higher pick to draft a Plumlee type player (assuming millsap and/or jefferson leave) Kabongo Seems like a natural fit at the PG position, and the type of PG who would succeed in the jazz system.

As for Franklin, as a diehard UNLV basketball fan, I hate him...but respect his game tremendously. I was at the MWC tournament last night and was so impressed with what Franklin brings to the table. He is the only player in the nation to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. He's great on defense, and an amazing rebounder (over 9 rebounds a game as a SG) the only downside to Franklin is he is maybe too similar to Alec Burks.

Anyways, wanted to pitch in my 2 cents. Whats everyones thoughts on the matter? Anyone else seen Franklin play? Who's our future PG??
