82 meaningful games for player development? 82 games played the right way to win as many games as you can. 82 games is better than just playing 70 and then playing the young guys the last 12 games right?? or 60 & 22?.......82 games of relying heavy on the veterans and give them as many chances as possible to not lose their jobs or minutes.
Even if the following players didn't play in 82 games, we still got 82 games of Tinsley.....82 games of Watson...82 games to realize that we still need a point guard. 82 games to realize that Atlanta fleeced the Jazz in the Marvin for Harris trade. Don't you think that the Jazz would have made the playoffs with Devin and Mo instead of Mo & Watson & Tinsley?? I do. Clearly Hayward could go for 35 minutes a game. I sure would have liked to see more of Carrol over 82 games. And yes we get to pay Marvin another season.
82 games to come up short of the playoffs. 82 games to realize that the Jazz should have made a trade at the deadline instead of the front office standing pat. Even if that meant a minor move to get a back up point guard.
82 games of featuring BIG Al Jefferson. Big Al can thank the Jazz for his big pay day next year. Shots taken in the last five games of the season.......Big Al 89 shots. Hayward, Favors & Burks combined 101. Clearly we need Big Al back next year to further stunt the growth of the C4 and anyone else we may draft in the future.
82 games to realize Ty is an average at best coach and that he really isn't very good at say...timeouts, in game adjustments, lineups, player evaluations when it comes to advanced stats etc.
82 games to realize that the Jazz are a terrible defensive team and not a very good offensive one.
82 games to realize that the Jazz actually regressed this year once teams had more time between games to scout and prepare for them.
82 games to get a .005 percent chance of winning the lottery.
I could go on.........but I'm sure there are a number of fans who would like to put their own spin on just what 82 meaningful games really mean as that will certainly be the catch phrase we are most likely to hear going forward.
