Orlando Summer League 2013
Game 2: Utah Jazz (1-0) @ Houston Rockets (1-0)
Today the Utah Jazz face off against their old Midwest Division rivals in a somewhat meaningless game. Houston won their first game despite a huge game from Michael Carter-Williams (26/8/7). Utah won with a team effort in a defensive battle after Alec Burks went down. Both teams haven't played since Sunday.
The Jazz are nursing injuries to Alec Burks (left ankle), Jerel McNeal (right knee), and Tony Gaffney (right adductor) -- and are all doubtful for today's game. So that means we need Trey Burke to shake off his 1/12 shooting in Game 1, and set the world on fire today. The Rockets team approach of fastbreaks and getting to the line was able to overcome a do-it-all point guard. If the Jazz are going to win today they'll need Burke to not only get hot, but also for him to get easy buckets for his teammates.
We have some bigs that can score around the rim in Rudy Gobert, Rasid Mahalbasic, and Dionte Christmas. But more than anything else, Jeremy Evans, going into his fourth year in the league, needs to be an impact player today.
Tip off is at 1:00 pm Mountain time (3:00 pm EST), and the game is available on NBA TV, or NBA.com.
